Report a translation problem
From what I've experienced ( I am not an expert) he is weaker than in T7 despite the new stance (not very useful IMO) and being easier to use. He feels less safe to me when pressing, has less ways to launch/combos, his pressure was relentless in T7 but not sure it is the case anymore. That is just my opinion though, I could be wrong, maybe i don't use him well.
And he got already nerfed
-B1's damage reduced (17 to 10)
-B1,2 no more wallsplat (that means fastest way he can wallsplat you is doing rocket launcher which comes at 16 frames)
-No more 13 frame rage art.
-Df2 is not a launcher on ch anymore
-His fastest standing (17f) launcher doesn't launch anymore, which means his fastest launcher in neutral comes at 22 frames now.
-Right weave 4,1,2 is not a hit confirmable ch launcher anymore, and last hit changed with a high move instead
-While standing 2 doesn't launch on ch anymore, making it harder for him to deal with mashing when he's in duck stance.
-Extended duck 1, left weave 3 [ch] 1, f212, and flicker b2 are no longer a launcher
-Extended duck f2 is not a guard break anymore
-Extended duck mix is gone in neutral, now you can only do clinch throw or extended duck 1 mixup in heat which has lower reward compared to extended duck mix.
-Db3,2 stomp and uf3,2 doesn't knockdown and doesn't give a guaranteed hit anymore, also both of moves' damage reduced significantly.
-Wall ender gatling gun's damage reduced
-His overall combo damage is noticeably reduced
-Punch parry input changed to b1+3 for no reason, causing instant flicker moves to execute harder now
-His 14 frame whiff punisher forces him to go heat which prevent him doing a wall splat
-D [2] ☆ 1,2 mid-mid hit confirmable string is gone
-Dempsey roll is gone
-Enhanced sonic fang rage drive is gone
-In order for him to open up his opponent, he has to rely on his new lionheart stance which has mid tornado launcher that is -13 on block and a high unblockable that gives 20 damage on hit but its delayed hopkick punishable. So new stance make him relying on high risk low reward moves to open his opponents unlike his old extended duck mixup which had high risk high reward.
... Agreed on the accent though, I think his VA sucks.
Hes literally the second weakest on the roster, his lionheart is easily countered (unless they master the insanely heart PKB cancel) and "0 effort" is just wrong x)
There are three weak characters in Tekken 8
Asuka
Leroy
And Steve...
Steve has no conventional launchers. He can't whiff punish with a launcher. In a game where juggles are the most important tool to a win (unless you're a poking god)
He needs a buff.... not a nerf.
