Arcade stick, hitbox, or mixbox?
Been using game controllers for fighting games for a long time and I decided to give my controller the night off and decided to try the keyboard and to my surprise, I really enjoyed it more than the gamepad so I'm thinking I'm done with gamepads for fighting games in general. I'm also playing on a laptop so I'm going to want to get something as soon as possible. I'm looking at those Sehawei controllers that have the WASD and eight keyboard buttons for a good price on Amazon (about $35). This is with the idea of getting a mixbox or hitbox later on which would cost more or unless I decide to make my own.

I have long wanted an arcade stick but the more I look at those hitboxes and mixboxes, I'm thinking I would prefer those instead of the arcade stick. It seems like the mixbox is the way for me to go but I'm willing to hear from people who have used hitboxes to see if that would be a better solution than a mixbox.

Also which one of those would have better ergonomics?

I just punch my screen till the bad guy goes away, 100 percent win rate.

I am not a legacy player which is why I prefer leverless. I played a year on Hitbox and now enjoy the Razer Kitsune.
I got the cross/up and Hitbox and controller. I like controller more because I can play longer. it seems to me that Tekken 8 is more demanding on the hands when using hitbox for tekken 8, for me at least. I would suggest trying a bit of everything for a while and return what you don't enjoy.

All of them are good, it is not about what is better. It is about what you enjoy using.

The days of arcadestick is king, or Hitbox is king is long gone. In fact, you could test if you like how hitbox would be by using your keyboard.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I have eliminated the arcade stick from consideration and it's either the mixbox or the hitbox. Even when I'm playing on the keyboard, I notice my left thumb is naturally around the spacebar just like the up button for the hitbox so I think I will end up getting a hitbox after all. ETA would be March or April.

hitbox/mixbox is the way to go arcade stick should be banned! you can try those 2 just by using your keyboard to see if you like it

Specifically for ergonomics - hitbox 100%.

Most professional Tekken players who have played for many years on arcade stick have wrist issues.

most stick users are fossils

hitbox users are younger

what I'm saying it's not necessarily because of the input but the age

I have stick, hitbox and mixbox. For me, the mixbox absolutely murders the other two. It's not even close!

That was my concern about arcade sticks and given how I use my hands to work (on a computer) and communicate (I’m Deaf and many people who use sign language a lot have wrist issues) so I’m picky on ergonomics in general.

The arcade stick has been eliminated from consideration. Mixbox or hitbox for me at this point.

Keyboard is entirely valid for tekken tbh its how I learned and at top level its what a lot of people use.
