Can't join friend session
I have an issue in joining a friend session. For some reason when we create a private lobby and start the match, I get to the character screen while my friend can't, and then the session interrupts.

We both can play with anyone else in ranked or in lounge, not sure what could be the issue here, anyone faced before?

What I noticed is that, in the friend list of the game, I can't see any of my steam friends with taken, only can see them in Tekken 8 tab.
I have the same issue too, and to add more i have 2 friends owning the game and they can match each other (I can spectate too) but I can't face one of them, I hope namco will fix this soon

Randomly just discovered it has something to do with friend list. A random in my custom game joined and game instantly started as it should be, but no success with a certain friend.
Nvm, it just doesn't let me play with one certain friend no matter if we are in the friend list or not, really strange

Same issue here, +1, pretty infuriating. Spend 70 bucks to see a connection error.

I had this problem while connecting to my friend (he was on PS5, I'm on PC), I was troubleshooting a bunch (my default internet setup is a cable connected to a router which is connected to a modem which is connected to the ISP), first I swapped from cable to wi-fi and created a mobile internet hotspot from my phone which has worked and we could play, then I connected cable to my modem instead of the router which also worked and gave me the information that the router is the problem here. I tried to do a bunch of things with it, like changing the DNS, turning off built-in firewall on that router, changing the NAT options etc. but nothing helped sadly. It's a TP-link router WR940N and honestly I have no idea what's wrong with it.
