I stopped playing SF6 the moment I had realized it's the same 3 characters over and over again. Playing against 70% of the time against Ken and then randomly seeing an Camy once every 10 matches and maybe a Honda once every 100, while seeing a few DJ's and .... seriously: I forgot about Lily existing, hell, I played against Zangief like twice in total.
But Tekken 8 seems fine atm.
Weird orphaned releases are another one, why is third strike online edition or dark stalkers resurrection PS3 only?
but if you're only playing these casually, play whatever you enjoy more.
I have not drank any where near enough to take "dynasty warriors has actual gameplay" seriously.
Even good visual novels are crap, as a genre they are just books for people with reading difficulties. Picture books for incels. So I don't think I am going to be able to take your "my spank bank is quality literature" argument seriously either.
Saying you have bad taste is a criminal understatement.
You just are not someone capable of offering an opinion on a games quality you nearly exclusively play the lowest quality products steam has to offer yet you feel comfortable sliding into a genre you know nothing about and trying to talk smack. its painful to even witness.
It's a weird-ass hybrid setup where matches will still sometimes lag like crazy and delay, and then in smaller situations it rolls back.
SF6 for Single player, easily. Tekken 8 for actual multiplayer gameplay. Be it online, or locally, Tekken 8 is the more "premium" experience. Right now, SF6 is in a really bad place balance wise, as specific characters are dominating by using universal mechanics in a really abusable way.
I'm not talking "Omg you threw a fireball twice in a row that's cheap" scrublord kinda abusable.
I mean "I am plus on block and can continue to be plus forever because I pressed one button" kinda abusable. "I hit you for free because you hit me once because I've got that much advantage on my frames" kinda stuff.
Tekken 8 on the other hand has a TERRIBLE story mode where they just slapped super armor on everything (Many "Bosses" can't be stunned by being hit...in a fighting game.....full of bosses....that you as a player never get to play as.) and blew the mechanics so far out of proportion that it might as well be a completely different game to the actual gameplay you'll be getting in the rest of the game.
However, when it comes to the actual game itself, Tekken is in a great place. The online is a bit finnicky, since it's some kinda weird hybrid of rollback and delay. You'll still occasionally get these little freezes when playing against someone with a poor connection. It's better than tekken 7 by MILES, for sure, but it's still not as smooth as SF6's online.
So it's a kind of "Pick your poison".
If you want 100+ hours of collecting upgrades, doing sidequests, leveling up a completely custom character, and doing minigames all with combos that you can learn in about 10 minutes as an average gamer, go for Street Fighter 6.
If you want a really deep, unforgivingly so, fighting game experience that will pretty much always carry forward into the next game, and you intend to put a LOT of hours into multiplayer and learning, Tekken 8 is where it's at.
and to all you people talking about rollback yes tekken 8 has rollback but it's restricted, these systems work on prediction it's way easier to predict sf6 gameplay than t8 with it's 3d movement and 100 + moves for most characters.
Just be thankful tekken is no longer 3 and has been upgraded .. to 6
