TEKKEN 8
Why tekken became a brainless button smashin game
How to do a combo in tekken 2023

Square square square square heat heat :clowney: :clowney:

Even street fighter have this easy combo/execution mode, thats funny how mortal kombat become the hardest fighting game in 2023 since they do not have these noobs features

The only hard part is just launching the opponent into the air, from them, is an instant 100% to zero.
not if you hit ground then you can either activate the iframes of a roll, and if read correctly you can then wr ch their followup or can db to evade the high. but you have to input just before you make contact to the ground. There are moments where reads are constantly good to know. Both work well in T7 and T8 and Ghost AI will also do this back to the player.
lol, lmao even

I started playing Tekken in 1996, which was probably far before you were born. It has ALWAYS been a mashable game. That is why it became so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ popular in the first place. It has never had the execution floor of other fighting games aside from using higher tier combos or characters with electrics.

If you are getting tilted over an auto combo feature that has been in nearly every notable fighting game for the better part of a decade you really might want to consider leaving the genre entirely. Or just sticking to +R and Fightcade or w/e the hell you think makes you t3h hardest core real fighting gaem player.
"Tekken is too difficult for new players"
Namco implements means for new players to play the game.

You can't win these days.

People that play Tekken by mashing aren't playing tekken..

There is a reason there is a moves list since T2
*Apparently wasn't a moves list for T1
It wasn't so people could hit buttons to see funny things happen on screen.
It was to show the player "how to play" if they chose to.

Its always been less about ease of play and more excuses to win.
If people cant figure what 1 2 3 4 does they want a reason to blame.

Yes they absolutely are. Why are you concerned with how somebody is playing a videogame? If the game is on and people have a controller in hand pushing buttons, guess what bucko! THEY'RE PLAYING. It doesn't matter if they aren't engaging with it or playing at a level that YOU deem up to your standards or definitions.

Do you have any idea how recent the esports-ification of videogaming and fighting games is?

For the majority of the genre's history most people only knew tech that they figured out and whatever they figured out was enough to beat the CPU and their buddies on the couch next to them. Not sweating for hundreds of hours grinding ranked endlessly. To say that those people were never really playing is completely moronic.
Tekken bacame brainless ?

The JP underground gaming scene is as old as the NES
The e-sports of consoles is as old as those who want to place bets on score.

I just recently discovered tekken overlay to unlock the games fps, currently running 120fps on my watercooled 6900xt, nd it runs very smooth, so why should such thing be banned ?

As far as I know, Tekkenoverlay is the only tool that unlocks the fps in tekken 7 which actually should have been supported within the games menu, but even in T8 there is no unlocked fps.

Thats cheating ! Thanks its no longer possible.
it's not cheating if the devs intended it - they control the game design and have balanced around it

They are referring to "Tekken Overlay" a hack mod trainer

.. not easy one button combo within the game

When you click the name to the quote, it will show what the reference was about.

Go on and try climbing ranked with special style... Doubt its any good once you fight people above overlord or genbu

I guarantee 80% of players wont use special style coz it will mainly hinder their gameplay

You can switch on the fly so yeah people will use it as one button electrics and instant armour moves is pretty good. I doubt it will be used as a replacement as it limits far to much of the move set and does pretty low damage combos that waste your heat.

I thought it went without saying that once the opponent is in the air, you follow-up with another combo, which is how I many everyone playing the beta. Use an attack that throws the opponent into the air, following up with one or two moves which lets you use the Heat Smash, launch the opponent into the air once again and finish them off the rest of the health. You are still right though about the recovery due the fact that the Heat Smash follow up does have the rival the opportunity to recover from the ground and counter with it.
As i said in another older thread :

Modern control mode/switch is only a QoL for absolute beginners and unfortunate movement impaired players who have some sort of handicap that don't allow them to do complex commands quickly.

Any experienced Tekken player just won't use it and repurpose/rebind the Switch button (L1 on PS controller) to another more useful set of button as shortcut, for example 1+2 for both fists at once.
Modern control is very limiting once you realize you literally can only do like 8 differents moves, and the auto-combo derived from it will often auto-engage heat-mode and spend it all on the Heat Smash/Finisher in the same combo.
So yeah best avoided if you don't want to become readable like an open book and waste your entire Heat gauge with a "one button" combo that often does less than manual combos. :lol_tk:

If you have a movement impairing handicap, sure, use it if it make your experience better. :lunar2020ratinablanket:

If you have fine motor skills but are a complete beginners, use it for a while to get a grasp for the game, then try to come up with your own punish/launcher/combos once you're comfy with the game mechanics. :MHRISE_OK:

If you are a returning player or just intend to properly learn how to play Tekken, immediatly rebinds that button. :sans:

MK was never a hard fighting game lol. Ed Boon himself said he wanted to make a fighting game that his own grand mother can play. Two directions and a button to do a special move. I even remember Nightwolf’s combo from MK3.MK being hard. What a joke.
