GRAPHICS ENHANCEMENT AND OPTIMIZATION GUIDE
The graphics settings of Tekken 8 are pretty barebones and it does not allow one to, do even the most basic settings like disable chromatic aberration or disable upscaling. This guide will help you do all the basic and advanced settings for this game and will also let you optimize your game for better visuals, better performance or both :)

This guide has been turned into a visual guide because the wall of text was getting very big as I kept updating this guide and reading all of that text was getting tedious and confusing. So I have decided to make a video guide, while leaving only the important commands and links here. That way you guys can easily follow the video while you keep this Steam post open, so that you can easily copy paste important stuff form here.

COMPARISON SCREENSHOTS:
Note that the non default screenshots has all UE5 settings applied to max values, has shadows and Anti Aliasing set to HIGH (not ULTRA) and has the 2 Reshade filters (that I shown in the video) applied.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1- Do these settings apply to every UE5 game?
Ans: Yes. The egine.ini commands are universal settings for every UE5 game.

2- Is this a mod?
Ans: No. These are Unreal engine.ini tweaks. Sort of commands you give to the engine.

3- How much performance will it effect?
Ans: Disabling stuff like Depth Of Field may gain you an fps or 2, but then again adding motion blur will make you lose like 2fps. The ambient Occlusion lines and SSR lines will make you lose about 10 fps but that also depends on which value you put there. You don't have to apply all these lines to your game. Just set them according to your preference and your PC hardware capabilities. Just for a performance example, for me, I can play this game with all these lines exactly posted above with highest values, in 120% render scale of 1440p constant 60fps all time using an RTX 3060 Ti. If I increase the render scale to 130%, I can still play it but sometimes during very start of fights or during stage transitions/animations I get some fps drops to like 55 or 50.

That is all. HAPPY GAMING!

@Dante, all the settings, options and possibilities you provided that worked in the demo also work in the full game i could simply copy-pasta the same settings demo > full game, without issues. Thanks!

I have everything on ultra and I use DLSS Quality preset. No problems on 3080Ti.

thanks! this helped me solve my problem where the first few seconds of the match, the frames weren't stable due to my processor being too old (i5 6500)

now it works flawlessly. though I didn't followed the guide fully as I'm having problems when copying the full config file from step 1. I was able to see the menu's and all but couldn't see kazuya at main screen. and when I try to get in match, its also black screen but the UI is there. so I tried removing the commands "r.AllowHDR=1" and below, and this fixed the problem. not sure why, maybe my pc doesn't allow HDR to be on

[UPDATE] The guide is now fully updated for full version of game. Includes some new fixes, removed old fixes already fixed in in full release, added visual display of all effects, added custom Reshade preset, added low vs ultra comparisons of each graphics settings and added recommended settings for everything.
PHEW! Now I can finally play the game for myself :FrontiersSonic:

can you play online with this?
Yes of course you can. These are only visual settings. Not cheats or macros

This only happens when either you dont have HDR compaitble monitor or you did not set HDR in windows. Anyway I removed these lines in the updated video, as the full release has an HDR settings.

Been using these settings from this thread and experimenting with 1440p TSR vs 4K FSR 2.0 Quality. The hair seems noticeably better with 4k.

Hey uh, does setting ambient occlusion and SSR to 0 disable it? Or should I only set the values to lowest (1) ?

Yes setting value of anything disables the effects. I already said that in the end of part 1 in the updated video :)

How do I change resolution scale above 100? Tekken 7 could go up to 200

Add this line to the engine.ini file:

r.ScreenPercentage=200

Yo, thanks man I was about to ask the same thing
Edit: I just noticed there's no more tonemapper settings as well as bloom. Does it not work anymore ?

The TekkenOverlay hasn't been updated for the newest demo version (or the full game version), but I was able to get LukeFZ's FSR2 to FSR3 mod working with Tekken 8 rather easily. From what I tried, the latency isn't shabby on my end. The downside is that the UI has strange artifacts, but I'm wondering if the version of DLSS that this game uses supports frame generation or not through cvars, because if so, might be able to get FSR 3 working without the UI problems.

EDIT: Just checked with UniversalUnrealUnlocker, and it's indeed not using the more recent DLSS 3 plugin.

Film grain and vignette are not present in game now, so I removed those lines. Removed motion blur and HDR lines as those toggles are now present in game. As for Bloom, it is already enabled in game and disabling it caused all particles in game to look very bad and glitchy because they were counted as light sources. That is why I removed bloom line as well.

is this any different than the enhanced visuals mod from FrancisLouis?

That mod is very very outdated with settings that dont even exist or work in the full version. On top of that it is missing some new settings. Also that one only acts as an engine.ini settings pack, while my guide has settings outside of unreal engine and full explanation of each in game graphics settings. In short, mine is a full guide while the one on nexus mods is just a engine settings pack, and a very outdated one at that.
