The algo definitely needs to improved. Im not expecting "OP" Heroes but they should be roughly on par the stock heroes and they are a long shot off.
In general i can second what the second poster said. If both options suck, you can get another try using the "random" option. Just pray.
I think it's alright on hard, but yeah the only trick I found was getting good level up luck or just picking random if both choices were awful.
If you get hexia at the end there you probably lose anyway, cause the chance to get a god build with the (de)generates is pretty low...
Curses that add blank sides are usually not bad on this type of run though but because damage output tends to be the biggest issue I would strongly advise against stuff that makes enemies tankier.
Also I wouldn't value green classes highly, they tend to have lower die power and health in exchange for a mediocre passive or spell (like I had a three health return 1 damage on hit one...).
I'd say your best classes here are orange, red and gray. Yellow can high roll but thanks to pain and exert there can be some real stinkers in there.
Blue is a complete crapshoot. Either you roll a party with great spells/charge and mana gain and it'll be fine or you just lose.
Started a new run, chose a party, got stuck with the stupid bones thing again. Immediately flee to restart, I'm not putting up with that one again, it just makes every battle take 10000 years (or be unwinnable).
Start a new run. Or try to, anyway. Exact same everything, and no choice of a different party setup, it didnt even bring up the screen to choose. Exact run, exact characters, exact dice. It just popped in as if it was loading a saved run.
Flee, restart, same thing... again, and again, and then one last time. Restarted the game, didnt work, tried to start a run in a different mode and hope it'd boot that mode out entirely, doesnt work. Also tried restarting the run by letting the monsters just destroy my team rather than hitting the flee button. Did nothing. Same thing.
Just... uuuuugh. At this point I just hate this part of the game outright.
I think I'm going to be skipping the unlocks in this mode.
If the runs don't outright end when picking curses due to really bad choices, then most of them end in the first few fights. Any that go longer just end later on where the few important ppl just don't roll their good faces for 2 or 3 turns in a row.
To be able to reroll your party it says you need to at least make it to floor 3 on this mode. If you don't you can just restart and pick easier early game curses and roll your dice until You get luckier.
This is the case for every mode btw to prevent you from re-rolling your way to victory on win streaks...
I'd say I had worse than average luck so far though. For example I haven't see a character (even T3) with more than 3 useful faces.
