"please dont release buggy trash."
also gamers:
"I'M IMPATIENT RELEASE WHATEVER YOU HAVE ALREADY"
dev studios apparently cant talk about their game ahead of time because people get antsy.
then if the game didnt get any updates theyd complain its either dead or vaporware since they dont show anything!
the game has only been in dev for 3ish years+ it cant be a day before situation because the game is quite literally being published by the biggest indie publisher in Canada. Dont know why everyone is so hellbent on watching every game fail.
ps: maybe it not go down same as the day before but i dont think it off the mark. both have same flawless trailer and then go radio silent which is really raise red flags to me there. i mean look at god save birmingham, game have monthly dev log on what to improve, the game trailer do show game not perfect like AI problem or ragdoll phyx but it give you sigh that the game look like real one
Playtesting is quite literally a thing right now some people have already been accepted to, public playtesting is going to initiate sometime next year. Also the thing youre forgetting about the day before is that it was so obviously fake, scripted, and edited. Blights gameplay was all in engine unscripted, natural 5 minutse of gameplay that the devs have firsthand confirmed is how the final gameplay loop will look and currently does. (Of course its going to be polished and get updated/smoother animations.) God Save Birninghams gameplay was also extremely obviously scripted which the dev admitted that it was the final vision of how they wanted the game to look. The reason blight looked flawless was because the 2 devs that made that initial snippet worked on that just that section and polished it really hard in order to catch the eyes of investors and try to get funding which worked in their favor now that theyve recieved an epic mega grant and are back by behavior. Also I did misread your inital text and youre right that it will most likely have been in dev for 5 years by the time its released in the 2027ish ballpark which makes perfectly good sense considering the scope of this game is extremely ambitious and in general with behavior backing is basically a AAA game since they have a huge team and all the funding they need to complete the game. Im not trying to start an argument or anything but I just dont get why people are so insistent on wanting to see games fail and spread negativity around them, im just trying to clear up misinformation surrounding the game. Its not a crime to be excited for a game.
I definitely don't get the idea of pressuring devs to release early, but I also don't get why we even know about this game if they were this far behind. Four years since the big reveal is absurd. I think devs need to learn when it's time to reveal games better.
the game was only revealed 2.5 years ago dont know where you got 4, also the reason for the reveal being so early was to get funding. The original gameplay was made by only 2 devs and put out that gameplay hoping to secure funding which is what happened. This isnt some new thing, indie games have been doing this for years another example would be scorn revealing early to get funding.
