Bomb Defusal Bug?
Edit: I was initially under the impression that you can save Pendell if you follow the manual correctly, but after viewing a few videos online and their comments, it looks like the expected behavior is that she dies because the manual is wrong?

Just want to get a 2nd pair of eyes on this mission and what I did as I'm not sure why the bomb detonates.

I noted the bomb characteristics and my actions and decision making below:

Controller
Explosive:
- 2 wires:
- 1 black
- 1 red
Power (battery):
- 2 wires:
- 1 black
- 1 red
- Single Battery Pack
- 9V, 0.3A, 2000mAh

Keypad and display each have:
- 4 wires:
- 1 red
- 1 black
- 1 green
- 1 yellow

Keypad:
- 12 buttons
10 digits
1 confirm
1 enter

Actions

1 - II.2. If chain leads me to ignore the else section, it is supposedly an Inverted clock ticking archetype. Section 1.4 is to be followed.

2a - Get Serial Number (II.3)

Checked by having Pendell enter 0000 in keypad, she said ABM186511.

2b - Decision based on Serial Number pattern (I.4)

Serial number is has a different pattern than FFF or SFC or SMC patterns indicate in 1st 2 sections, so the 3rd if is followed.

First step is to disconnect all masses by following procedure III.1

3 - Disconnect all masses (III.1)

Cut all green wires (mass) of each module when such a wire is present (so keypad and display only)
Whether I first have Pendell cut the keypad's or display's green wire, the bomb detonates.

Actually, if you ask Pendell about the explosive (I think it was 'About the bomb...' -> 'Tell me about the explosives') she'll say that it is gasoline-based.
In the manual on II.2 there is a section about liquid type bombs (the third one in the if chain). And, since gasoline is a liquid, you should follow section I.3 (not the I.4, as you have thought).

My advice is to hit ALT+F4 if you fail to defuse it. Then you can try again.

Hints below:

* The game says not to read the whole manual, which is true. But you can still read all the relevant parts before doing them once you know what you're dealing with.
* Carefully examine the bomb whenever the manual brings up exceptions or things to look for.

My advice is to accept the outcome of whatever happen on your first try, it's meant to be played that way, even if it's frustrating :spy:

I was proud I solved the bomb first try, but I think playing "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes" gives you a lot of practice with RTFMing!

I actually loved this "minigame" and would play it many times if the bomb solution were randomized, all the archetypes were available, etc.!
