Re:BF
I've never played a Kagura game before; is this a good place to start?
I've played Evenicle and Monster Girl Quest, so I'm somewhat familiar with the overall genre.

Kagura only did the translation. They are not the same genre.

As referenced above Kagura Games translates and ports popular Japanese ero indie games to steam from many different devs. While most of the games have no direct relation to one another (though there are some devs with multiple entries) most of them are rpgmaker games which typically (but not always) involve turn based rpg style battles.

But yes this is a solid one to start with, it's got enough depth and complexity to stand out from the average rpgmaker game without being overwhelmingly complex. Kagura Games usually picks out games that are already popular in Japan, but this one is definitely well above average.

Since the devs for each game are different you should always do a bit of google searching for the ero content of the game before buying, they may have very different themes and tastes.

Btw Kagura Games had some part in localization work for Evenicle 2 (like they did on Melty's Quest and the Venus Blood games on steam). They might have had some on 1 as well , I don't quite recall.
