On that note, may I ask for help with some of the other achievements? I can see that neither of us got Reunion, but I'd like to know how to get Ascension, Confessor, Suited and Booted, and Acceptance.
Thanks! I just unlocked that one!
Alright, so one by one, in order of difficulty (imho).
Suited and Booted requires you to get all the main chest pieces and hats (Algernon not included), easiest way to do that, I have found, is by filling censuses quickly by going to places with multiple people at once to interview (the Landau's/Synagogue, the Devil's Townhouse, etc). Turn them in, buy all items you don't have off of Ivy and Ferret.
Confessor can only happen during the season of Confessions. You need to ask Horatia if she needs anything, and select the "kindness" option. Buy a mask from Ivy, hear a confession from a housemate.
Ascension and Acceptance are related and very plot heavy, so whole next section is in spoilers.
Acceptance requires you to completely solve the murder mystery. You need to complete a theory about the culprits that includes Phoebe, Milton, and arsenic candles. There are multiple ways to do this, I can give you a more detailed explanation if needed. Turn in the completed theory to Harjit, see the scene play out in court.
For the ascension achievement, you need the same information as for Acceptance, but in addition you need to be on good enough terms with Milton and have enough time to also do another quest chain for him. You need to have made contact with your Rubbery friends and have them show him where he died in the 4th city. If you do this, and then complete the theory and turn it in to Harjit, the courtroom scene will be very different.
Reunion: Alright, *deep breath* This ending blew my mind, so going to try not to spoil it as much as possible but give general guidance. The main players here are Harjit, Archie, Moss, and May. You need to do 3 tasks related to Harjit (follow him disguised, find out what happened to Lucian, and then prop up the memory). Then, this is the super important part, you need to indicate, either after the arrest scene, or by bringing a theory to Harjit, that our boy Archie may have done the deed. This opens up a new line of querying for you to theorize about. Make a theory with this tidbit, wait for Moss, visit May and make sure to choose the new options you now have with him. You still need to present a theory of Archie's guilt to Harjit, even if it is not accurate. Events won't take place until the court scene. .
I somehow got this solved on my very first playthrough but cannot for the life of my again figure out how I found out about the candles . Do you remember? Some of my screenshots indicate it was Ferret but they never delivered any such info again after the first time.
I swear I've had acceptance work with David and Phoebe instead of Milton.
I'm sure the court scene goes differently, but I have the achievement.
I think the point is merely to get the right person, even if you don't do it 100% correct way - I fumbled my investigation a little bit, yet Milton kind of revelaed themselves as a part of it on their own, which was really strange considering the only evidence was word of mouth.
You can get method from several people if you have everything filled in but unknown method and unknown motive. For Ferret, you have to have asked them about their illegal side hustles first, I believe. You can also confront Milton about methods if you have him as a motivator and he will tell you. You can ask Rachel about methods if you appeal to her sense of justice. Phoebe will even tell you if you have already convinced David to talk to you. He will do this if you are on decent terms and also promise to bring the culprit to justice no matter what.
Yep! I think you may be right. I did that ending first so it must have triggered then. It probably just didn't feel as just to me haha.
You need to have "maybe he did do it" as a thought after the arrest, which then triggers an option to select something along the lines of "the masters may have altered him." This gives a clue "was not himself" as motive.
I'm guessing, but it MIGHT have to do with diguising yourself with Ferret's wig.
