As before - whenever a Mortal gains experience in a skill, they also gain *crossover* experience in their other skills based on their potential in those skills. Now - when leveling - the Skills that have gained 100% of the experience needed for their next Point will get one. Any remaining experience is applied to the progress towards the next point. You can track this progress by hovering over a Skill on the Jobs tab. Numbers have been retuned to achieve the desired skill arcs over a Mortal's life.
At lvl 20 they should end up with roughly the same skill loadout as before on average, just more predictably and with less outliers.
Thanks for the feedback!
In practice can you then wait until a specialist reaches a pip on their preferred skill before I go to the level up overlay?
We want people to become well-rounded - just in a predictable and decipherable way.
Hope that helps!
The end character level and skill points will be the same whether you wait or not.
In the level up +2 the character also got a ton of skills it was doubtful he used, but, i was busy posting here lol
That seems to be what I just experienced
But in that way, I can hold a level up process until I am sure the character has gain the needed points in a specific skill before I trigger the level up overlay?
Did they gain 2 levels?
No - when they gain enough character xp to level up, we record the progress towards skill points alongside the banked level. The Skill Points awarded are determined at that moment.
Yes, gained 2 levels
But it lets me hold the 1st level and gain the skills I want... then I do a x2 level up to be sure I gain the preferred skill in the 2nd level process.
Is how it appeared to work
ok, i will keep trying my new kingdom and get a feel for the skills level procedure more as i go.
