Old man on the bench
Who was the old man who sat with MC? Was that who they were protecting MC from?

Not sure. My guess is that he knew he was going to be detained/killed and that was the last moment of his life.

As for the MC, my understanding is that he was under surveillance because of the money he got from his dad (which he got from the death of his new wife/ Sea's mom).

Regardless, MC wasn't being protected, he was being spied on by homeland security and Steph. fell in love with him; so she expanded her days there to stay with him, but eventually she had to be pulled out and sent to do a new op. I don't know where the old guy comes in.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was a family connection.

For some reason I thought that was MC's real dad. The man on the bench was from the area I believe MC's dad was, he called MC 'son' and he asked MC if he believed in forgiveness. That the other dude who he had a meeting with in episode 3 or 4 was a fake/body double (MC wouldn't know what his dad looked like anyway). Only problem with that theory is that it does not explain the half-sister's part, but maybe she was in on it.

My opinion is that this was the MC's grandfather. Either that or it was another cameo from a different AVN. We know the author likes to do that.

I think so as well. It made me think of a movie scene where the witness wants to see their family as part of their plea deal or something.

I still think old dude is MC's pops and the dude you meet in the conference room is an agent. Thats why his answers to any of the questions were so weak. As for C, I have a feeling we will get more answers from U4ia. Cheers!

I think I'm kind of leaning toward this also. As another supporting piece of information, the MC can ask his "dad" "Why don't you have an accent?" or something like that.

Also, @Hydra, if you don't take Stephanie back with you to Lexi's she's contacted and asked to protect someone. This is implied to be the MC as instead of that guy watching you from the bushes, it's Stephanie. Also, speaking of the guy watching from the bushes, I'm pretty that's the same guy in the background when you walk away in the park scene with the old man getting in the back of an armored vehicle. He's (the old man) definitely connected to the MC in some way.

My guess that was the MC's grandfather. We know that the MC's fathers side of the family was from Afghanistan. My guess he was a high ranking Taliban or a drug lord. Some how he turned his back on what he was and has been given protection in the States. Homeland could be watching to see if it was safe for the Old Man to visit his grandson in case someone was watching.

100% agree I think its his pops too
by chance is u4ia a continuation to LoF? Like same MC? Cece? and so on? or a whole new story from a different POV?

So far, it looks like u4ia is unconnected to LoF, but it might happen in the same universe. I think it'd be cool if we learn more about LoF's MC's this way. And who knows, there could be cameos. LoF characters show up in many different AVN, so why not one by the same dev. :-D

So far, my impression is that it's a whole new story that is set in the same world as LoF.

Honestly, I saw it as a reference to Stephanie's job since he seemingly gets arrested by the services that she works for. I doubt that it's a kidnapping by terrorists or a foreign government because that would be unlikely that they would do this out in the open like that although it has happened before. I also think that it was a way to add some more philosophy about life in the game. I'm not sure at this point that this guy had any family connection to the MC's father. Since Drifty doesn't seem to want to make a follow up for this game, we will likely never know unless he later explains it.

Adding my two cents here. My initial thought when I first saw the ending for him was that he was just a random stranger meant to illustrate that "Son" was a figure of speech and it was intended to get the MC to realize his father meant no harm.

After reading through some of the other responses, I wouldn't be shocked if this guy had some connection to the MC and the department of homeland security used him as a way to test whether or not the MC was truly not involved in that family's dealings.
