Cece (Major Spoilers!!!)
This game really affected me, like a lot. I've completed 3 playthroughs so far...Cece first, then Lexi, and Steph most recently. Cece will always be my #1. But I have this little problem... Every time I see Cece, mainly towards the end of the "mock prom" I loose it and start to cry because I know what's happening next. It hurts me so much to see someone like Cece with such a beautiful and gentle soul be in so much pain and suffering that she would choose to end her life. And her words to the MC as she's letting go of him on the bridge...yeah I pretty much sob like a little b%tch.

It's a testament to Drifty and his amazing storytelling that through Cece, I'm able to feel a very small fraction of the pain and sadness that he is dealing with. I played Acting Lessons by Dr. Pinkcake and I always thought that would be the saddest and hardest VN, adult or otherwise, that I'd ever experience. But now I'm calling it, Leap of Faith has a far greater emotional impact and is a better story overall than Acting Lessons, though I will always love AL.

So thank you Drifty, you made a grown a## man cry and it was worth every tear and then some! You have my upmost sympathies, I can only imagine what you've been through and what you're still dealing with. Really looking forward to ep 8. Take your time and make it awesome! Give our girls, especially Cece, the endings they deserve!

I cried my eyes out every time at the end of chapter 6. Cece is really a true empath. and i can relate to that.. the emotions are really powerful, especially when you're not really sure whose feelings it is you're feeling.. i never really played many visual novels before, but this one is the best one i have ever experienced, It really touches the very dephts of your soul in such a profound way, that makes you relate to the characters, and even fall in love with them. So Drifty, if you ever publish a book, let us know, i would happily read it and experience everything. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting us experience this story.

Same. My first time playing through I balled for like 20 minutes straight. I skipped the scenes the next couple times. But when I did my Cece run I watched it again and lost it again. For me it was very cathartic as I've had my own battles. I am in a good place now. It was amazing to see another game in this genre really hit me like that.

When I reached chapter 6 I thought that this is the end of the game, didn't know there is chapter 7. And in reality this would be pretty much the end. But Drifty took pity on us and wrote 'but this is just a game'. I still can not recover. And I simply can not play for other girl, exept Cece - I feel like abandoning her...

I know what you mean. Part of me wants to start playing again for the other girls, who are solid characters in their own right who I would genuinely like to know more about. But my soul insists the correct way to play this game is to choose Cece every single time.

I understand the both of you and have had this feeling too. To give you some piece of mind, choosing other girls doesn't have any real effect on Cece's outcome. Some of the dialog changes, obviously, but nearly everything else stays the same. You can still be a special friend to her and be there for her while pursuing a different girl. She's very cool about it. As someone like Cece should be.

I suspected this might be the case, but thank you for the confirmation. Not giving Cece all the love all the time is a tall ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ order, but this'll make it an easier choice.

There's an old instrumental track called "Living", that Moby made back in the '90s. It starts out in an almost lazy, dreamy way, gradually picking up until it's become this really joyous vibrant thing and then, right in the midst of the crescendo, it abruptly ends. No warning, just a couple notes faltering into nothing and that's all there is. I just finished my first playthrough and now am listening to the song while this whole Cece montage plays itself out in my head.

I hate what the dev had to go through to bring us this, but what a beautiful thing he's made of it.

I know that. The other girl that I like pretty much is Holly. But from I red, to reach Holly you must be first with Lexi. And now I feel double ♥♥♥♥♥♥ - for not be with Cece and cheating on Lexi.

I was actually thinking to make similar post for the past days, so thank you @Esoteric for doing that for me. :)

I will just add my 2 cents, and hope the author reads this: Please please let Cece beat her mental issues in chapter 8 and have the happiness she truly deserves, and live happily ever after with my MC, having a lot of kids. That would be the most satisfying ending for me. <3

not every story is a fairy tale....not even in the gameworld.

Maybe, but luckily, this one will probably end on a good note, according to achievement "unbroken".

True. the dev is already making use of suspension of disbelieve a lot by letting Cece survive the fall into the water. I know it's possible and people have survived it in real life, but the chances are extremely slim to near impossible.

I don't know the statistics, but I believe it's also near impossible to beat mental issues like hers. Most people in reality can't go beyond learning to live with it by talking to shrinks and/or medication for a very long time to maybe their entire lives.

Of course I hope she will live a a long and happy life like Hotwire says and imo (looking at what dev did on the bridge and also said "this is just a game") I think it will happen (except for maybe a lot of kids). It would imo be better and more realistic storytelling though that yes she mostly will have a happy life with no more suicide attempts, but that she will keep the mental issues in some capacity.

I think so too.

i agree when i see cece it hurts me a lot with what she is going through as ive been in that dark place before and when i play this the non steam download i was given by my friend i have to stop playing by chapter 5/6 because of what happens brings me to tears but cece is no.1 for me thats for sure

Given the size of Cece's support network, plus she is actively seeking help her odds of a re-attempt would be lower. She would have to come to terms with the illness, accept and learn to manage it. With the help and support of her friends and family, along with a tonne of inner strength she can regain some quality of life.

But yeah, I cried like a 6 foot 4 inch baby, so huge congrats to Drifty.

On a personal note this was very close to home, and much like all of you I would like to see Cece prosper. Her demise would completely ruin this masterpiece, I would rather relive tears of joy than tears of sorrow.

Nothing much to add here, most summed it up already. I played 100% Cece in my first playthrough and i went on an emotional journey like no other.
It was such a masterpiece in storytelling along with the music. I shed quite a few tears as it hit really close to home.
