..Why do i see this excuse absolutely everywhere?

Note : this is from what i have read on various thread or youtube comments, and not my own opinion.

This game is short and can be beaten under 2 hours without trying.

This game is way too pricey for the small amount of content!

This game is not that pretty, and they don't even move their mouth while talking!

... What does the dev being solo have ANYTHING to do with any of those complain?
The moment you put a price on something, you expect something equal to that price, or something close to it.

For 20€, while staying in indie title, i can get cross code, and have more than 40 hours of playtime.
"But this game was made by a group!"

Ok then, what about a game made by one single developer?

Dust: An Elysian Tail. 13€ ( no idea about price when it was first release, however. )
Stardew valley. 14€ ( same thing, no idea about price at release )

But i'll go back to the title and my question :

What does him being alone/a single dev, excuse any potential bad point about the game?

After "They are just one dev", there was the "Just refund the game"...

And now there's the godly "Make a game yourself". Because every critics/reviewer made their own game before making a review.
Every movie critic also made their own award-winning movie.

Seriously, is giving a negative review about this game forbidden or something?

And from what i see, the thread just deviate to a toxic fest quite quickly. I'll just let it be now, because honestly, over 15 awnser, and what i see here is no different from everywhere else about this game.

i mean yeah it can be beaten in 2 hours or less but think yes it was made by one person but no past experience and how could you expand the game really i mean theres paint collect all that its not meant to speed run ya know and im sure they might make some dlc or smth but chill its been in the making for prolly years i saw it back in 2021 but i was hyped and i still am although i beat the game today you can still explore it all find easter eggs ect like bro just recommend a thing they should do and they might do it

Es súmamente fácil quejarse.

La opinión al respecto de que es solo una persona desarrollando ese juego es válida porque comporta un esfuerzo que ni tú ni yo hacemos.

Invierte su tiempo, su dinero, su esfuerzo, su descanso, su dinero, en hacer un juego con amor, porque sí, se nota que está hecho con cariño.

Lo de que no tengan expresiones o no te abran la boca no es imprescindible, lo importante es la historia, el ambiente, el enemigo, las misiones, no si tiene unos gráficos del copón. Estamos muy mal acostumbrados.
