I think the dev should make something like a discord server. Would be cool having general chat, another chat for bugs and etc.
The same happened to me. idk if this will solve it for you but it did for me. i restarted the game and made a new game.

Respecto al dev, yo creo que puedes acudir a su YB, ahí seguro está su mail comercial así que puedes enviarle la información, lo del discord estaría bien, la verdad, aunque no sé yo si entraría gente con toxicidad, leyendo ciertos comentarios por aquí.. :O
Imagino que implantar el sistema de errores es un poco complicado, no sé cuanto podría costar, vaya, igual hablando por aquí ha contestado, ¡¡qué bien!! ^^

Fortunately this has not happened to me, but it sounds like it has not been saved correctly, maybe when they killed you it reset and it was like you had to go take the mission again although it seems strange to me.
Try creating a new game if it doesn't let you continue correctly from the save, have you tried it? did it go well?
Regarding the dev, I think you can go to his YB, his commercial email is there for sure so you can send him the information, the discord thing would be fine, really, although I don't know if people with toxicity would come in, reading certain comments here .. :EITHER
