If you're going for the optional, worry about it until after you've completed main objective as you don't need to finish optional in time limit. Easier to complete main objective with fewer people, especially gastronomy.
Good to use Ration food decree until your farms are productive.
1. Have two bakeries maxed initially and other bakeries can be destroyed to free resources. I usually build another's builders house first and max them both with employees.
2. Destroy, destroy, destroy. You have 224 spaces in houses so you can go in a destroy frenzy. Usually I do the area left of the two windmills and leaders house first to clear that area for Pumpkin Pie Huts and give you tonnes of resources to play with.
3. Build more farms. First build at least two extra pumpkin farms and at least one extra wheat farm. I move the existing pumpkin farm back and put four along the river so I can have an access road and big stockpile. As they finish planting the first farm, move them to the next. Once they're done planting, the first is usually ready to harvest. That's your food set up for the game.
4. Gastronomy usually activates about now so build a few pie huts opposite the two windmills near the farms. I start with three but typically end up with about five or six to complete the game but worry about the extras later a bit later. That's your gastronomy set. Gatsornomy is the hardest I find. Now you can destroy the bakeries entirely and the random single windmill in the top right corner.
5. For fun you only really need a theatre and a bonfire. Start setting up your lumber supply somewhere near your bonfire. I put this next to the tree nursery and bonfire just inside city walls beside it.
6. You won't need to worry about a sawmill or quarry until later in the game as you can destroy the mess of housing that's already there for those reasources. I focus on destroying nice houses to improve beauty. I destroy the row of houses nearest the farms to place more pumpkin pie huts later.
7. Plant high beauty trees around the edge of the town once your lumber supply is set up. Add some bird houses later on to improve beauty. Be wary of stone use as there is very limited additional stone available to quarry but you can destroy fountains and replace with birdhouses to free up some extra if you need it.
8. That should be you all set. Get your stocks of food up and move your farmers around to keep things productive. Manage population growth carefully until you've got your main objective and then let them run wild to get your optional.
Hope this helps you or someone else if they have the same issue.
wow thanks for all this advice, I didn't expect answers, and even less so detailed, I really like this game but I stopped because of this table, I really thank you and I will give you feedback when I have finished it! thanks again
