So far I haven't figured it out, I just use the heavy attack by running but I don't think that's how it's done
The reward is Memory of an npc zone boss (1000 memory in NG, and interestingly 1300 memory in NG2).
This fall damage = 885 health, at 27% equip load. So doing this early in the game where that 1000 memory means anything, will probably kill you. I am not aware of a way to minimise fall damage (at least pre expansion), and since plunge attacking doesn't seem to be a thing in this game, I doubt it exists?
wont help with early access, dlc item iirc.
(that pencil next to it, so damn op. prevents knockback 100%. also dlc item)
-- just quick attack as you fall.
you'll do an downward slash all the way down, and quite quickly at that.
