the death machanic

so i havent been able to play this ith my friends because they hate the death mechanics of this game witch lets be honest its extremely annoying that if your hosting and the friend your playing with dies you die too, mind you i understand why this mechanic is a thing because of the other mechanic.... You can't play with players who have a different progress level. witch is a cool mechanic. but there got to be a better way to deal with it than both players die if one dies. Wouldn't it be better if it just teleports both players to the last bonfire they sat at? idk just feel like that would be slightly less annoying.

i really like this game but the whole if one player dies thing keeps my friends from playing and it really sucks. would be nice to have a game mode where you can play through the story together without worrying about dying cus your friend died
