I keep running out of water this getting dumb
So far every play through has been exactly the same. Start at beginning location, loot entire place, find no water bottles. 1 component in the car, cant start car. I then proceed to play for an hour, running around looking for water bottles because apparently your character is just too stupid he cant put water in anything besides a water bottle.

I have yet to get out of the starter area because I cant find the pieces to start the car and keep running out of water looking for pieces to start the car. Whats the point of having zombies if the bottleneck for survival is freaking watter bottles.

Yes I know I can build a rain catch but what good is that if it doesnt rain and you have no water bottles. This just isnt fun.

Maybe it's better to give 1 empty bottle at spawn, instead of 1 apple. Or add a context menu in the rain collector, so we can drink it straight away without a bottle.
When i first spawn, playing with scarce loot, sometimes i die of thirst, if i'm unlucky.
If you find pop bottles you can drink or empty them and use the bottle. Also, toilets are important, always fill up with dirty water and purify with tablets or on a campfire. It's really simple if you just have a bit more patients. I have 16 hours without dying of dehydration once.

I know all that stuff. No one said it was complicated, and I'm glad your runs have worked out but my experience has been different.

You should be able to drink water directly from the catch or put water in those tins. If you don't find a water bottle or pop can youre just screwed. I want to fight zombies and explore the map, not hunt for water bottles.

And I have yet to drive a car because RNG won't give me the parts so I die of thirst looking for parts to just get out of the starter area.

I'm thinking this genre just isn't for me.

rng can be frustrating but stick with it, you can start a new save and everything will fall into place..

確實,遊戲一開始滿世界找水沒問題,問題是滿世界的找盛放水的容器,挺傻的.
I've never had the problem of not finding a bottle, but due to RNG I can see where someone could be unlucky enough to have that happen. I do agree that providing 1 bottle (empty or with water) in the starter area would likely be a good idea. That or allow you to drink directly from a water source with a high chance of getting sick. People do desperate things when dying of thirst or starvation.

Play on servers with High Loot or if you're on single player set your Loot Rarity to High so searching for stuff isn't a problem. Mind you this is a survival game... it's supposed to be challenging and sometimes requires patience.
With regard to the car parts, the best place to find those are auto shops or containers with the "auto shop" label on them. After that, the next best locations are other drivable cars. The third best location is home garages, specifically any shelves and containers therein.

this is what I did and now I have 3 water catches and 9 different water bottles. thanks.
I think I was on day 20 before getting all the car parts. The auto shop is the best for that sadly. I also have my game stupid easy because I stuck at aiming and I always the first to die. This morning before my log out.. Hordes of Zombies. I forgot how to drop a log. Yes, I am blonde. One of the traders help me by blowing up the hazmat zombie as all the zombies were attacking him around a corner of my base I could not see. I think I have ran out of ammo too. I have my loot re-spawn rate more frequently because of not being good of exploring and not dying. Once I get the hang of it I will spread out the loot re-spawn rate.

So, That is an option unless you want to play the game at the default level.

Could also put vital drain on slow that might feel better for you.

but all you need is that one bottle or bottle of kola etc then you have that bottle and take water from toilets or ponds and then use purify tabs or cook your water in a fireplace or fire barrel or craft a campfire or cooking stove
