How to cure common cold?

Hi guys, been playing for a couple hours, and more recently my character caught a cold. It is not hypothermia, nor an infection, since the only symbol is the virus next to my normal temp icon. I've taken pain killers + cough medicine + stood by a fire for quite a while (30 min) and nothing. Maybe I am missing something, but any help on this matter is appreciated!

Get warm by a fire and wait for the heat buff, it will flash on the left. Cough medicine will only stop the cough. But the behind the scene logic is two pain killers while standing by a fire for like 5 minutes straight should get rid of it

Okay, I tried that but it still hasn't done anything. Temp icon flashes too. My friend also gets sick when in proximity, but he does heal and the icon goes away. My character's gotten his sick like 5 times due to us being in proximity. Also, when I die and respawn, my character is still sick. I haven't lost health, but the cough is kinda annoying. Appreciate the help though, maybe it's some kind of bug?

Sorry for the late bump, but I just wanted to add;

I have encountered the common cold too and 2 painkillers plus standing next to a light up stove cured it for me during even mid-winter (sheltered in gun store).

didn't work for me, but couldn't get a warm buff by the fireplace just showed regular, took cough medicine when it was, but sounds like pain killers the thing while warm. Have to say, not a big fan of these kinds of mechanics, but ahh well..

It eventually went away
