How do I make water?

I got the raincatcher up etc.

Must be a bug then because I haven't gotten any water, how long does it generally take? Been playing for hours and rain catcher out in the open hasn't been giving me any water

If you build and it is obstructed it won’t catch rain. Not saying that you did build it like that but just as a point of clarification

I built it on a dock, I built my base on the dock near top left corner

I do, just 1 bottle so far. Honestly, I get more drinks from zombie loot.
