Scavenge / wreck / dessamble cars for parts

Hello

Have just bought the game and struggling to find parts to start the car up. I have red in survival guide that u can dessamble specific wrecked cars for parts, however which weapon/iteam do u use for it? how to do it exactly?

Yah this was the part that still confuses me. Why can you only loot some cars and not others? Is there some obvious way to tell which cars can be looted for parts, or do we need to check each and every one of them?

Sledge Hammer is what you want to dissemble wrecked cars. But it's easier to find all parts in the large store houses in C3 town and E3 town. You will find almost everything there.

As far my experience tells me, it's pretty much random. I was able to find some batteries and a starter motor after wrecking about a couple of dozen cars with my fire axe.

The best location for finding car parts to get a usable vehicle working are Autoshops. These can be found at E2, E3, D1, D4 and B4. The next best location is the Storage Facility at E3.

I think being able to fully or partially dismantle any vehicle should be possible. And besides, if you are a mechanic you should be able to extract usable parts from them.
