Dog Companion

How do you get the dog companion in HZ ?

I made a dog bowl and set it outside near my base door and left to roam around.
I returned and the dog bowl disappeared but I still have no dog.

Also I was in a hostile area where human NPC's were with their weapons and they had a normal dog that was attacking me while the hostile humans were attacking also

Other than the hostile enemy dog and the zombie dog that is the only 2 dogs I have seen.
I have not found any friendly dogs yet

Somebody said to leave a dog bowl at their base and I tried that and it didn't work but that player was only guessing.

Does any player in HZ actually have a dog yet so they can help us get one too ?

I found a dog while randomly running around, (first one I saw was in a police station, then another was in a little shed) i dropped a bowl of dog food which it ate and followed me around

30 hours in game. All the map cleared . No dog found. I have some few small town to check, but the boring factor is winning and I don't think i will. Maybe need to review the way it spawns?

I totally agree with you about the boring factor. I mean it should not be this difficult to find a dog companion and you would think the HZ dev would spawn a dog at our spawning points and give us a dog companion from the start. I can't remember the name of the other 2 zombie games that did that but there are at least 2 other zombie games that gives players a dog companion right from the start.

If this HZ dev wants to be different and have us work to get a dog fine but there is work and then there is an insane work load that just becomes boring and like you said I think finding a dog companion is becoming the latter of the two.

I played 3 separate games all started at the beginner spawn and I went to police station and another location that someone posted in a video to the EXACT location of dog and I still have NOT found the dog in either place which supposedly is police station near radio tower and then another spot near the beginner spawn and as mentioned neither spot provided a dog,
Also when I watched the video of exactly where the dog near spawn point is I went to the EXACT house as in video and everything was same as the video except in my game there was a DOG HOUSE outside the house which was NOT there in the video where the dog was but it was absolutely the exact same house as in video and there was not a dog 3 times in 3 separate games......

Your comment is exactly my point. This game developer should make ALL the maps the same so we can help each other out with finding things like a dog.

And for the ones that complain about it being to easy that way can have a separate map like the current map that is just random generated BS that is chaos.

Other games have multiple maps with seed numbers so it is not impossible for the developer to do my idea of having 2 maps. One for us who wants to help each other and one map like the current map for the self centered people who don't care to help people that will complain about our map.

hay 6 puntos donde puede aparecer el perro, no lloreis tanto y bajaros un mapa y en cinco minutos tendreis perro, lo malo es conseguir su comida, eso si que es un infierno, come mucho y no hay casi comida para perros

there is actaully 12 locations

and remember dogs eat raw or cooked meat aswell :)

I have not played this game in a while and I don't plan on playing it until this game is finally out of early access and finished but since you are the developer I will take your word for it and mark this as the answer. Future readers just know I did not verify if this is the correct answer or not because like I said I don't feel like playing the game until it is out of early access.
