Al'Ankh Sell items glitch Golden Rock City
I used cargo transport to unload items to sell, and it showed them in loading area but didn't sell them, all that happened was the price kept dropping. I ended up putting them back on the boat (shop still showed them in loading area though) then quitting the game, going back in a manually carrying them to sell and this worked - though all profit was eradicated troubleshooting the issue.

When this happens, you just have to restart the game and click on the transport NPC again to recover your inventory.

I think this is a different scenario, this wasn't an inventory issue as the inventory unloaded successfully, it was a selling issue that item would not sell, but the price for it kept going down every time I tried to sell it and didn't sell until I manually carried it back to the trader... so NOT an inventory issue.

Same, Restart your game.

And if you can resume an automatic save just before that would be better because the price drop due to the sale is still preserved. If you do not have access to the list of saves, you must create a new save by launching a new game. Then you quit and you now have a menu to choose your game AND the save you want to load for each game.

So the game is broken and you need workarounds (also I stated that I did exactly this in the original post), in this case turn it off and turn it back on again to fix them.

The point here is not really how to 'get around the problem', it's that this is a problem, and in my opinion when you've spent all your profit on some crates to sell and the selling process glitches out and in troubleshooting it you end up making a loss; and keep to the forefront of your mind that this game is a trading SIM with sailing, that you can't 'trade' the item! In a trading game... the trading mechanic is broken, which means the game unplayable as it can't even do what it's primary mechanic is - and this equates to hours of sailing to make this profit and it's all stuck in a glitch selling mechanic of crates I can't sell. Suggesting workarounds is not in the best interest of this game, ensuring that the primary mechanic of this game functions it what's in the best interest of this game.

Greetings, I'm afraid it's a known issue, exactly as you described it. I experienced it myself.
It's generally suggested to make backups of the save to avoid loosing money or progresses during this early access stage. If you need help at that, I can provide a guide for you.

This happened to me too! I had tradegoods that I used the cargo service to unload in Gold Rock City. When I opened the trade book to sell my tradegoods, each time I clicked the "Sell" button I would hear the coin sound effect, the price per crate reduced as if I had sold it, BUT the crate was not sold and I did not receive any coins.

I was able to solve it by placing my tradegoods back on my ship, sailing to a different port (can't remember which one but likely Al-Nilem or perhaps Alchemists Island) and selling my tradgoods there.

Apparently I could have also fixed it by just exiting the game and then reloading!

Lastly, this game works fine about 95% of the time, which is pretty good for an Early Access game! People who are freaking out about a "broken game" confuse me. Yeah, that's how it is sometimes with Early Access, but the solution in this case was extremely painless so I don't get it. If the game is too broken for you, wait and maybe come back when the game reaches version 1.0 ???
