Warning! The new ship has a huge problem! (FIXED!)
IT HAS NO BED! - A furniture store was added, thanks RawLion!

I sailed my junk down to get it, moved my stuff over and noticed there was no bed. I luckily have energy tonics to make it back to EA region, but yeah no bed, and no furniture stores that I could find in Kicia bay or Fire Fish Lagoon, unless one of the other towns has a furniture store? BUT if you plan on buying it, I hope you brought a bed with you! ;)

Also, no spoilers, but I just like to say; She's built like a steakhouse, but she handles like a bistro!! I feel like I am sailing a royal barge of a ship instead of a cargo ship and I can't wait to see how I can customise it fully.

But for anyone else, how are you enjoying it? Also do we have a name for this comically wonderful ship?

Up until now that ship is usually called 4MJ, four-masted Junk. It has been on Raw Lion's Twitter for years (back when it's still called Twitter).

Good call on the bed problem I'll make sure to bring one.

How big of sail can her masts handle? can she carry the full size junk sail (140 area)?

I remember that, I was just wondering if it had a not project name now. Perhaps the Royal Junk? I feel like a king of the ocean in it. :p

She can take some large sails, but from sailing it I found that they may have been too big, under full sails with the wrong change in the wind I was almost sailing 90degrees. A bit top heavy perhaps, I don't want to give away to much. I only just made it to DC to see what I could do there.

(Also all the room for PAINTINGS FINALLY)

what was your config when it sailed 90 degrees?

In terms of project name they are usually rather far away from what people are using now. In fact the "project name" would be "junk" for the 2MJ which nobody uses now, it's always 2MJ or "kakam".

When I left Kacia, I believe I had the two largest squares I could put on both middle masts, I put a bowsprit on with a 6 junk square, and a 16 or 13 I think junk stay attached. On the mizzen I put a 8 junk gaff. I put a couple stays on the tops in between the mast for if I was stuck against the wind but never used them. (I've already changed it all for another run so I can't remember what exactly I had). But I really over sailed it, I also added all the largest deck options so I could have had a lot of extra surface area on the ship itself.

When I left FFL I had a tail wind so let loose most of my sails. But half a day in the wind switched quickly to hitting me perfectly sideways and highest non storm gust. At the peak of each wave the ship was tipping completely over. I was able to fight and get some of the sails down but I was walking on walls to get there.

That all said, it survived really easily even with the stupid amount of sail.

*edit, I should say too I didn't have a lot of cargo, I only had a few missions, mail, rice and blue tobacco and nothing was really worth getting a lot of personal cargo wise. So the ship was lest than 500 weight I think.

yeah I can see the problem here. two largest square would be 250 each so you're already looking at 500 sail area.

I'm sailing toward Kicia now so let's see what we get there.

Edit: My god this thing is HUMONGOUS. The square sails are new ones, sporting 336 area EACH, so just in its default configuration this thing is at 952 total sail area.

Not a fan of the limited angles, not only in the squares but also in the junk sails. Idk what to make with that ship yet. There is a lot of potential for staysails if you go for smaller sails.

The funny thing is that i went there straight on patch day (i was in DC) and didn't have a bed so i had to go back to DC and now i need to go to Kicia Bay again. I will go with the Kakam instead of the 3mj tho.

I have bought it and made the first big trip, it goes well in the usual waves of the game.it's a little slow but it doesn't sink.

The new ship has no autohelsman and steers with minimal rudder input. Not able to sail in a straight line!

yes,it has some problems with the steering wheel, but it's the most beautiful and spacious ship in the game.
