You have "abilities"
- light attack
- heavy attack
- special attack (aka your ability, which is not tied to your weapon)
- dash
- pet
- ultimate
Each one has a base damage component (speak: if you pick an light attack "boon" it gives you base damage scaling + an additional effect based on the god)
Dashes in general have slightly different effects, so let me ignore them.
- "fire" - every X seconds your next attack/ability does bonus damage (speak: good for burst damage)
- "poison" - venom, each attack/skill hit makes the enemy take dot damage
- "ice" - slow enemy move speed + attack speed
- "luck" - crit chance + crit damage
- "giant" - increased stun/stagger bonus
- "fury" - each attack increases attack speed
- "shadow" - backstab damage
- "draining" - weakening effect, aka enemies deal less damage
And the Standard Blessings of each "god" change up the gameplay massively.
Hands down: I am not going to touch Hades anymore. SWORN does a better job in most aspects. The gameplay is more enjoyable.
"More fluid"? No, it feels like actually playing a real character and not some hyperactive fur ball. The additional dashes, special attack casts, etc. do help make it more "fluid", as you like to say, but the gameplay is mostly affected by your spell ahd weapon choices.
You can be some hyperactive fur ball with something like the staff on Squire, if you seek gameplay like that. That's the neat part about SWORN: actually having options and the gameplay does in fact get affected by your choices.
