SWORN
Steam deck bad performance
Is it just me or is the performance on steam deck kind of bad? I can't keep a steady 60 fps even after lowering the resolution. It's especially bad in the hub area where it consistently drops below 30 fps.

It runs smoothly in my LCD deck. Have you tried changing proton?

Nope. Which version are you using?

I am not using any proton, but you could try proton experimental.

Do you happen to have "restrict TDP" setting on? My sister was having bad performance until she turned that off
I've been using proton experimental, and TDP limit is off... I don't understand why it's performing so badly on my deck.

It made no difference. I tried re-installing the game too, and again, no difference.
Am I really the only one having such bad performance?

I really appreciate the help, but this is not a good solution... My issue is that your game is performing poorly, and putting a limit on the fps does not increase the performance.

Since you put your game in "early access" I'll accept that it's just not very well optimized yet and move on.

Hey Thomas,

It might help to force quit any unnecessary programs on the Steam Deck. Background programs can lead to those FPS drops. Closing anything you don’t need can make a big difference.

Here’s a simple way to do it:
  1. Press and hold the power button to open the power menu.
  2. Select "Switch to Desktop."
  3. Make sure the desktop version of Steam is running.
  4. Open System Monitor.
  5. Go to the Applications tab.
  6. Right-click on Steam or any other app you'd like to close (you can use the LT button to right-click).
  7. Select "Send Signal" and then choose "KILL."
We hope this helps improve your gaming experience. Let us know how it goes.
