needs massive balancing
Vigilante is the strongest class if you focus on his spell. All other classes fall short. They need a buff. I've got a lot unlocked and just the next difficulty is too hard. Game is imbalanced.

before balance patch, I found Vigilante more or less in the middle. Also the one i find to have the most powerful spell wise is generally the Monk so I guess our experience varies depending on what we finding in the run.

Rook is really good when it comes to spells as well as most weapons, so I not really sure how they fall short? I don't have much experience with Specter but more than likely that one not that bad either.

Overall I think it has to do with playstyle, if you find something to be good or not.
Vigilante gets a sword in the stone that makes the spell +125 dmg. That's huge. So potential crits of 3k+. WAY more than any other. Combine w/ mana regen.
IMO, all Characters can be busted when used correctly.

For example, Spectre can literally permastun every boss except Arthur with Most of his weapons + Guardian Spirit (SiTS upgrade not strictly necessary but does make it easier to pull off), only reason Monk can't quite do the same is because her weapons can't build up Stagger/Frostbite fast enough (while Crystal Turrets with Rapid Fire most certainly can). Spectre also does disgusting damage with any of his weapons with Oberon's blessings (having the right SiTS upgrade just makes things die faster)


Also can't rule out one blessing that can make any character OP: Bone Collector (Gogmagog+Badb Duo Blessing) can ad up to +100% damage to ALL attacks and its easy to max out the bonus if you get in in the First Zone or early in the Second Zone. Sure Assassin' Dagger becomes even more busted when you stack this with Veteran's Blade but Bone Collector applies to all damage sources and can be used by any character.

They nerfed a lot of things today. When Sov is already dumb. So enjoy I guess.,
I agree. Characters need some balancing imo but mostly it's the enemies in the chambers. The round table (4th area) can be near impossible sometimes and others Bedivere and the Water Witch sub boss will just rinse lives since you get low and there's no invulnerability after dying. There is lots of work left on this game especially when you realize that their math doesn't add up. I have near 100% increased chance for uncommon yet only have a 13.5%???? Yeah.....I also have that and got an increase in boon rarity from the Secret Shop yet when I beat a major foe for boons I got two uncommons and one common all level 1. They need to look at these things because it's just upsetting.

your math is off, not theirs. you have a base chance to get uncommons, lets say its 10% for easy math. getting one of the upgrades that increases this by 25% does not add up to 35%, it increases your base value multiplicative. 10 * 1.25 = 12.5 => your new chance for uncommons is 12.5% not 35%.
some spells are plain useless n clunky, too much ressources on higher difs, needs to go for more power upgrades, health bonus too low, add more weapons / powers
