The spam lightning, the rod that you can attack then dash cancel and now you are saying the book is also broken
so monk= best class?
Hammer locking you in place to attack just gets you killed over and over and over again.
And anything with good range and damage is gonna tower over anything melee. I'm willing to be proven wrong, but it seems like you don't get much of a bonus on damage at melee.
I use the Damage over time aspect on the staff, then upgrade with 2 more projectiles and if im lucky the big damage on direct attack. Crit city
the bell seemed really bad. getting the light instant hit might make it better but as it is its a huge pain to make it work.
EDIT: as others have mentioned, hitstun would be an incredible improvement to melee.
Yeah, I really struggled with the bell. It's not the fastest at applying stacks of poison/chill/etc, and all its light and heavy attack variations have very specific ranges for little reward. Also experienced a lot of dash-related weirdness on it; felt like some of its recovery animations canceled dashes.
Love the idea of a sound-based weapon, though, and its shots being able to go through walls is a neat gimmick.
Cannon Rook (light attack), Armillary Spectre (heavy attack), Tome Monk (heavy attack). These are the characters you'll beat the game with the most often.
Of course, the focus on big bomb ranged attacks means a handful of gods are less worthwhile. you'll have trouble keeping fury stacks, what does 10 damage poison ticks matter when you hit for 100?
It's not that these weapons are broken, it's a matter of *HOW* melee unfrendly the game is.
