Maze solutions?

can anyone explain to me how to arrive at the maze solution connected to the broken rocks and/or the thing that looks like it has a math problem on it? i found 3 ways through the maze on my own, but that one stumped me. I looked up the solution, but its bugging me that i don't understand how the solution was reached.

Thus far I've found 5 total solutions, but are there more?
1. Simply follow the directions indicated by having the magnifier
2. The shortcut back to the city, on the tablet downstairs one of the rooms
3. Assembling the 6 dream stones
4. Accessing the hidden room in the illusion dungeon
5. Above the murals in the hall leading to the city

I cant get the hidden room one to work from the illusion dungeon. it always restarts after the second up
