It takes time to get the hang of it if you never played any of the Project Diva games. :mikuDIVA:
About a year ago I had trouble clearing normal songs.

Now 200 hours later in i'm either trying my hand on 8 extreme charts or getting 90%+ on hard songs and i'm having a freaking blast.

Take your time and level up. It's worth it.
Dont worry bro you can do this practice will make you better and make sure to take breaks to not burden yourself
What did you expect? This is a rhythm game, you will not be master of it within 100 hours of playtime. I myself started from easy songs with around 50-80% clear rate (depending on difficulty) then I started clearing normal songs pretty fast, then hard and now extreme + ex-extreme. Now with 300+ hours in I can get Perfects in 8+ star songs in around 1-4 hours of practice and sometimes manage to barely clear 9.5 or 10 star songs. You have to play easy songs first and then practice to get to the next difficulty and repeat this until you start clearing 10 star songs with ease.

If you want advice, mine is the following: opposite to what you are usually told in music, in this game if you can't or won't hit some presses then just press something random (or everything), this is because misses are much more deadly than wrongs or bads, this should help you clear out some easy songs.

If you didn't like the game otherwise (maybe Project Diva controls or songs aren't for you) then it is a miss and there is no changing that. There is always OSU! as an alternative for Keyboard and Mouse but IMO there is pretty restricted selection of Vocaloid songs and there are no guarantees for quality.
maybe try project mirai dx first? i played that before project diva and i think it helped me understand how to sightread

Rhythm games - hard to learn, even harder to master

I started playing on the older Diva F series, on normal difficult and it was more or less easy. There is even an easy difficult, if you cant easy... youre just bad playing games(and obviously dont expect clear all on perfect being new)

git gud i suppose, or maybe try monopoly, would be good for you.

Hum, I now the OP wasn't the most urban starting or replying in this thread but we could use a bit more benevolence.

This is already a small community no need to gatekeep.

@Raging Amy I'm talking anymore,

the long story short is that Easy and Normal exist for a reason and you should totally go though them thoroughly before going higher.

Hard is HARD.

Extreme and Ex-extreme are for people with hundred of hours under their belt.

The game is hard and can be frustrating at times but if you persevere and go up progressively you'll reach the higher diff eventually where there is arguably even more fun and community charts.

And if it's not your cup of tea... well there's plenty of other games to play !
You will get better if you keep playing, eventually you'll just look at what buttons to press while singing the song in your head 👍

Heck yeah, you will get even better now that you're relaxed knowing you cleared the song :mikuDIVA: Sorry I dont know why I cant reply to you when I use the steam app lol

That is really well played! I have no idea how many hours you have, but if I'd take a guess maybe 50, give or take a couple tens of hours here and if so that is already a hard song to complete with so little hours. I really recommend pushing yourself through challenges like these. I for example learned really well how to handle around 6 multi-presses on screen when perfecting world is mine on Ex-extreme or clearing -Dead end- on extreme, and now I am learning how to do the same crap but with more complications on Po-Pi-Po and World's End Dancehall (both on extreme) :lukaDIVA:. The more you give yourself a challenge and take your time to complete it, you can and will learn tactics to make future songs and completions much easier, remember to take breaks and play some easier songs that are your favorites. (Also I can't reply with steam app either :stress:)
