Outfits on Project Diva

Hi!
I was wondering how I get to visualize my outfits on Project Diva. I have all of them, but I thought I'd get my characters to use those costumes when I pick a song they sing.

Could anyone explain how does the system work? Thank you!

Outfits are chosen per song, as well as 3 Favorites that can be set instantly on any song. Once you've highlighted a song you can press Square (or equivalent) to choose an outfit to use for that song. You can also press Right Thumbstick (or equivalent) to cycle between the outfit you have set for the song, or one of your 3 Favorites.
