Its supposed to be chaotic. Some stages will make your brain melt trying to keep track.
Thats part of the fun.
And no, there is no mod to disable the background music video.
Its also not a video ( for most songs) but real time.
Well, good players are able to finish all those levels on "Ultra Extreme" difficulty.
So its definitely possible. Its a rythm game after all, after i play a song a few times i barely look at the symbols anymore and just press the buttons with the music.
Also, one tip if you start out, DONT look at the symbols flying into the screen from all directions, ONLY focus on the static target field. There is this small pointer going round on them, press the button when it is at top.
That way you basically ignore the video in the background. I rarely even notice whats going on in the video till i get better at the song and play more with instinct.
Also its not like all the stages are like that, there are dozens of slower paced songs with really nice background action.
I am by no means a great rythm player, i am 44 by now and my reflexes are garbage for these kind of games.
I finished about 170 songs so far in Mega Mix+ , all on NORMAL and HARD.
If I can manage that, so can you.
The Project Diva Mega Mix games have a bit of a higher learning curve since they are based on the arcade versions of Project Diva, not the home versions for PSP/VIA/PS3/4 and so on.
Who all had a lot of optional help options and items you could use.
But Mega Mix+ is just pretty difficult for a beginner.
I honestly can only recommend to stick with it. It will click after a while and you dont even notice most of the videos anymore. Or even enjoy them.
It is what it is with these games.
Anyway this whole thread has gone of track, i apologize for that.
Simple answer to your question, there is no way to disable or dim the background music video and there is also no mod currently that does something like that.
Its very unlikely that one will be created since none of the games ever had something like that and the series has been going on since 2009.
