It'd be really cool if we could have animated themed profile backgrounds, mini profile backgrounds, avatars and frames. Bonus props for some stickers too!

the cards literally give you profile backgrounds and emoji etc.
ingame a profile doesn't even exist.

Right, there are Steam trading cards and you can get emoticons and static profile backgrounds but there are way more ways to customise and interact with community features.

The OP is asking for animated profile backgrounds, as well as the mini profile backgrounds (which are also animated)-whenever you hover over someone's avatar a mini profile appears with some info about the profile such as the profile's level and featured badge. Then there's also animated avatars and avatar frames for customisation.

And again, whilst there are emoticons, there aren't any animated chat stickers available.

Is there even a list of badge rewards yet because i can't see any items on the community market yet except for the cards themselves. would like to know what shiny cards can reward.

You can see all the items on the Steam Points Shop page for the game

If by "shiny" you mean foil, then, the reward pool is the same
