fun enough game thats simple and straight forward, and very repeatative. There's a single means of controling the battle, a slider. unfortunately it's of limited use once troops start fighting as even if you're fighting at the enemy's gates and then disengage a good portion of your troops will continue to fight the enemy, and even those who have disengaged will often immediately rush back towards the enemy once they reach the point you've set, compounding how horrible this is is the fact that your troops won't fall back all at once and instead will go back is in clumps of 2-4. additionally spawning in more troops happens in a similar manner, resulting in frequent situations where player troops are picked off piecemeal.

Not a bad game on a discount. It plays like a tug-of-war autobattler with tech trees and random events, but there is the issue of the AI seemingly cheating in that their tech progression seems to massively outpace you even on easier difficulties. That said, their unit tactics and army compositions can royally suck and some units are downright unviable on harder difficulties, which the AI does sometimes pose a serious challenge if their tech tree just so happens to be a viable combo.

Its a game where you can pick up and play against the AI, which does play the game with at times brutal efficiency on the hardest difficulty. Not a bad buy, but if you like this kind of genre, can consider getting the android/ios version. If I had known this game had a portable version (with most of the same features and gameplay), I'd rather have gotten it on a mobile console for times on the go.

If you want a more "standard" 4x strategy game along the lines of the Total War games, this is NOT for you. The game can get oversimplified once you figure out the jedi curve and maximum efficiency strats, then just grind the enemy down via attrition and stabilize into the lategame, but all in all even if you don't want to min-max according to difficulty spikes and RNG, its still a fun little 'git gud' game.

Also give a small indiedev some love!

This just happened 5min ago and I'm still a bit angry so know this review is bias. If you forget to defend a city you automatically lose it, I was winning and did this a couple time in a row because there where multiple fights (id do most of them and forget one everytime...), i had used all my energy, and thought I was done with my turn (stupid i know but still) and then Id get a notice of oh you just lost a city and lost the 2k soldiers there (like there is no fight or anything if you forget to defend the city, the soldiers there apparently do nothing on there own). This pissed me off so much/ soured my taste in the game that I'm done with it. I had maybe 5h+ until I was about to reunite the continent and this just killed any motivation I had. I know its my fault in part, but for the soldiers there to no nothing and then just vanish is bs, not to mention how is there not a auto defend if the player forgets one? Like come on.
