Difficulty progressing the skill tree

Has anyone else been through this? I feel like I've hit a wall. I'm having trouble with finding things to do to get more skill points (not sure what it's called). I'm currently trying to invite all the outstanding Yordles but I still have to unlock the Foundry Workbench, the Inventor's Fair, the Instrument Making and one other skill in the middle. In total that's 56 points and I currently only have 13. I feel like I've done everything I can to get those points and not sure if I have to unlock more skills to get more points. Any advice?

Sometimes when I'm short on points, I open up the food stand and make food for my character to eat. It gives some decent xp.

If you go to Gadgeton and host the New Friend Fest with the right music, you get around 50-60 skill points total if you complete the 40 requirement. Along with some portal yarn and more skill points, you also get 5 order points, which is enough to host a food stand. Use the grubmasher on the chopped swirlcorn, honeyfruit, prism apple, and calasa as your 4 different food stand items, and that is enough to max out your social point meters, allowing you to do another party. I earned like 300 skill points in 30 minutes, maxing out what i can currently do.

A Consistent Farm for Swirlcorns, Honeyfruit, Calasa, and Swirlcorns
