Can't make an atomizer without iron. Can't get iron without an atomizer...

I was rearranging my base and my atomizer disappeared. It's not in inventory. I don't have enough iron to make a new one. How do I get iron to make an atmomizer?

It maybe in one of the automatic collector things (these auto chests). If you dismantled it while changing your base, it might fell down and probably be "snatched" by one of those things... happened to me (with the smelter).

Maybe to avoid this soft lock, you could make the Atomizer buildable from a non-refined resource, since it's kind of like the traditional "smelter"? i.e. all mined resources start their refinement through that machine, like the smelter in Factorio can be built from stone out of the ground.

It's very easy to replicate. Fill your inventory and dismantle your rig. Watch all the blocks float off into space.

Aha I see! Well yes I'll have a think, but its exceptionally rare. In the times it happens, I think most players will be happy to chalk it up to experience and reload. The game keeps a back log of the last 5 autosaves, and in addition last 5 manual saves, so most often you shouldn't ever be too stuck. I'll have a think about other solutions if it becomes a very common problem. Apologies again!

My tip: if play area has no atomizer, neither deployed, or any inventory, then TRACI should be able to dispense one with an option, and do a check only when selected. Or button under "unstuck" and that can do a through check for the ingame items to stop if not actually needed.

You could use TRACI to provide the player with basic tools, like the atomizer and mining laser - e.g. either from some kind of "emergency buffer", or have her call the aliens in to bring us new stuff ^^

I had this happen to me. it seemed like I had lost my atomizer after rearranging my base. However, I eventually found it again in my inventory, just not sure where? I will try to recreate what happened.

Maybe hitting the unstuck button could spawn essential items into your inventory?
