Ai Voice in trailer?

What was the reason Ai voicing was used in the games trailer? I don't own the game so is there also Ai voice acting in game too?

Hi

First, to be clear - there is no AI voicing - or art - or any other kind of AI used in this game.

We are a small studio of 2 passionate game developers and we well understand the importance of keeping creative jobs alive, including artists and voice actors.

I was a freelance writer myself before switching to game dev and I know very well the challenges of creative contract work.

We in fact hired a great human artist (Ailantd Sikowsky) for the intro art as you can see him tweeting here: https://x.com/ailantd/status/1721887475910713739?s=20

However - you asked about the trailer.

Well, to tell you the truth, I have no knowledge of how the trailer was voiced! In fact, we did not have legal sign-off for the marketing used for this game, neither trailer nor the key art used at launch - and we weren't consulted on how it was voiced. The game was marketed by our publisher.

Finally - there is a character in the game called TRACI - (Trash Recovery And Communications Interface), who is a kind of robot assistant cube. She is not voiced currently, if she were to be voiced we would hire a human voice actor, like we did for the intro art. In any case - there is currently no voice acting of any kind in the game.

I hope this explains things clearly. Anything else on this topic would be speculation and for that reason I think its fair for me to lock the thread and keep the forum on topic - discussing the game which we're working hard on to make as best as possible through Early Access.

Voice Acting

Hey, I absolutely love games like this and will have to check this one out. I notice in the trailer you have some AI Voice acting. I recorded the lines in the trailer, as a little demo of what I could do to help bring more character to the game. In my opinion the voice acting is what made games like Hard space and Breathedge amazing. I have no idea how to contact the developer and would love if they would reach out here, or if someone could get me in contact with them!

Trailer was done by Paradox Arc without any sign off by the developer. if they were going to get TRACI voiced they would look into a human voice actor. For a micro studio though that's something that's pretty costly and then impacts on localisation

Well the OP may do it for cheap, just to get his name out. LOL. Let him contact them. They can make a decision.

AI voice?

It really ruins games for me when the game play video uses a well known AI voice on social media. I recommend using a custom AI voice, and then it won't ruin the suspension of disbelief.

It really ruins a discussion forum when people post stuff and don't check if it's already been discussed. I'd recommend searching before creating a new thread, then it won't clog up the feed with irrelevant stuff.
