I don't do console gaming but I would definitely consider contributing to a Kickstarter, both to help improve the PC version and just support the game in general. This is a really good game and it'd be nice to see it flourish.

This all sounds AWESOME. I hope console port will give game more players, since finding a game is a struggle for now

If you do, I'd hope the multiplayer is available on Xbox One without having to pay Microsoft for their subscription pass. (Xbox Game Pass Core, formerly Xbox Gold) It's not recent news by any means but Microsoft officially let games do it now. Friday the 13th: The Game didn't, even with its offline levels. Couldn't even open the game without paying Microsoft. Dead By Daylight also doesn't let you open the game without paying Microsoft. (Multiversus does let you open the game and even has an offline mode that works)

I hate not being able to play a game because of a completely unrelated thing crashing or because I'm not paying a different company £10 monthly to play a game I have the disk/download for. Especially when the game has a singleplayer mode, like this does.

(Also, when Microsoft service goes down, usually brings the Xbox online services with it too. Locked me out of offline Minecraft which is a single-player game. And I enjoy playing this game offline too.)

If you get money from it though, I understand.

Also, I'd like to throw split-screen multiplayer into the pot for console feature suggestions.

Long story short, love the game, very excited. Definitely funding that Kickstarter.

Thank you, I honestly had no idea Xbox allowed players to connect to multiplayer games without gamepass. We will look into it!

Also agree. I'd be down to help in a Kickstarter on this

Thanks. (I'm going to rant now about the multiplayer thing for a bit now)

Still can't believe Dead by Daylight is £20 + a £7-£15 monthly subscription if you want to even open the game on an Xbox. Then, if you want to play as a licensed character you need the DLC for that character, which is cross-platform, I will grant them that. And the game is 46GB and constantly updates so you'll quickly run out of space for other games unless you buy an external storage for your Xbox.

And they have a singleplayer option which you can only access by PAYING THE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION. I know they can make games that let you use the menu before you get asked to pay Microsoft. I've seen other games do that; Mortal Kombat 10 does it, along with all the Xbox 360 games that come with online multiplayer. But no, you can't open Dead By Daylight, or Friday the 13th: The Game without paying money. The singleplayer mode could have split-screen to be worth something at that, especially because the singleplayer is supposed to be an offline mode but despite the game being intended for groups of friends, it doesn't even have that.

Worst part, even with the singleplayer, Dead by Daylight still needs WiFi because it's an always online game.
All the game is downloaded! Why would they stop me playing the downloaded bits of the game that I have on my device doing nothing?

Also, on my laptop, I don't consistently have that much available storage for a game that I'll want to start with minimal effort and play for half of an afternoon, if that.

Can you tell that this game is now the only multiplayer game I play and care about playing? I'd love for it to be on Xbox.

I would suggest having Full Moon if possible play a large factor in the Kickstarter Campaign, without their involvement I don't see how feasible this is going to be a sale on people. Would love to see the addition of bots but I have already given money to this game in the form of DLC, I'm not keen on the idea but good luck.

If you're already struggling to get by, I can't see console sales for a game like this helping much after the development cost. We all know this is a niche product for an already niche audience, and you'd be stretching yourself thin between bug fixes and bad press from people expecting a bigger game on a console, just for a couple of people who want to play on their TV. Maybe I'm coming from this from a dated point of view, but PCs are for the weird indie ♥♥♥♥, while consoles need big or popular names to survive. A smartphone port might be a safer bet for a new audience, and easier to develop for. Otherwise, there's always donation DLC, or crowdfunding to simply keep the servers on via Patreon or something.

Thank you, we really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns!

We’ve looked at a few different funding options, but we think Kickstarter is the best fit. It gives us a clear goal to get the resources we need to improve the game and ensures we can deliver on what we promise. Plus, it keeps us accountable to you, our community, not an outside publisher or investor.

While Patreon is a great platform, it wouldn’t be much different from our current DLC model. Additionally, it would require us to dedicate extra development time to creating monthly rewards for supporters, which could distract us from focusing on the core elements of the game. We wouldn’t feel right asking for support on Patreon without providing consistent value in return.

We’re also not overly concerned with pleasing critics. Our priority is our core audience and Puppet Master fans.

Our research shows that games in our genre tend to thrive on console platforms, where the majority of players are. We’re not trying to dominate the genre or compete on a massive scale with Puppet Master, believe us, we know it’s a weird, niche project, and that’s exactly why we love it. However, by making these improvements and bringing it to consoles, we can significantly enhance the experience for our dedicated audience.

We could continue developing the game as we have been, but adding new maps and characters won’t fix some of the core issues. That said, we can always return to that model if things don’t pan out. For now, we believe our time and effort are best spent tackling those key challenges head-on.

Why don't you just go the same route Rocket League and Fall Guys went? They started as F2P models and moved to a retail release. Have current players retain the game new players pay for it. Put the game on hiatus ala Multiverse. Take time develop slowly, retool the product for a better release state. I understand you need funding to continue developing it but I have to be honest with you.

I don't see realistically this product being able to have a successful Kickstarter or crowdfunding campaign. There's not enough interest in the product in it's current state to fund what you want to do via this method. Adding more ports to the game in theory will fix the player count temporarily for a week or two like how updates on PC pull people in for a few days and then they leave.

I don't honestly see the Kickstarter being successful would suggest a different more realistic approach.
