Race week-end simulation:
Open Wheel Manager 2 (OWM2) < Motorsport Manager (MM)
Car development simulation:
OWM2 > MM
Team Management simulation:
OWM2 > MM
Team commercial development simulation:
OWM2 > MM
Long term simulation:
OWM2 > MM
Main features of OWM2, comparing to MM, in my opinion and in the current state of the game:
- Supplier Contracts types (works, partner or client).
- Budget cap (salaries mainly) defined by the board.
- Chassis development through the season (problems resolution).
- Chassis development for next season (various parameters to work on).
- Changing regulations through the seasons.
- Mod editor.
As a whole OWM2 is more focused on team management than race management.
That's great, exactly what I'm looking for
I've just taken a look at the brand spanking new editor, and frankly, I'm nursing a semi. I'm like a kid at christmas time and can't wait to get cracking at my first mod. Back in the 90s I wrote modding tools for both Grand Prix Manager 2 and Grand Prix Word, both taking the better part of a year to get them working.
These days we get it delivered with dev support. How brilliant is that? Once the modding scene will get cracking on this game, it will blow the likes of Motorsport Manager and F1 Manager into the weeds.
Agree with this - the game is very exciting, it's already very good and has incredible potential. GPW was the gold standard for me and OWM2 is like GPW+ with an active and hard working developer, so much to like.
Well that said, i'm a fan of MM (not F1 though, I don't like the devs/publisher) and other manager games so I wishlisted this one and I will follow the development.
