Bhopping & Parry changes
I think there needs to be a cooldown when it come's to jumping. People are bouncing around like invincible bunnies of death and it ruins the gameplay.

You can't parry a glitchy model flying towards you, and you can't outrun it either.
HK is one of the worst to do this with, the animations don't play and it just doesn't make sense.
A heavy suit of armor and you're just jumping about? No mate.

The parry system needs work.
I think if you aim in the direction of the opponents weapon, you should parry it. Not based on movement. Aiming is just weird without the game really needing you to aim as well. Bhopping would also kill this idea, so without #1 this wouldn't really work.

BHopping isn't really possible. Simply spamming spacebar is not bhopping. It is also a strategy to avoid the full damage of swings. Having a delay on pressing the jump button would be... very silly...

Adapt. Jump as well as it is part of the game mechanics.
Well persay, i take them down if they are up in the air or not, if you stay planted on the ground and blocking succesfully then you will have a chance, you adapt to other players play styles and find the weak spots in how they play. Use the noggin. I played with you earlier and you are pretty cool even tho i only laughed in your face lol. I do jump sometimes when fighting but usually its an ambush jump, or if im close to death ill hop like a dying little bunny.
Yeah but I just feel taht the game would have been a lot more solid without the hopping about. Also, parrtying is awkward when you're walking away from one another trying to parry ^^

We end up attacking out of frustration and we end up just slashing with no self-preservation. "It's become who can time the hits best" rather than "Who can parry at the right time in a fight that might end their life"
Fair enough relik, those are good reasons to jump. It's just the everyone bouncing around like we're a bunch of fighting rubber balls that gets me :P
^ ahah very true. It really takes away from the feel of the game, but then you have to remember this is a game called pirates vikings and knights ii. Certainly isnt about realism
My issue isn't realism, it's just that the parry system is based on movement, and it's bloody hard to parry someone bouncing and spinning around, I haven't really been able to "learn" to parry, for lack of regular melee people.

Still don't know which direction parries which, it's never consistent. I've been able to parry attacks from the left and the right with the same parry direction...

The confusion may be caused by the auto-parry system, which selects the parry direction automatically based on the attack direction of your nearest foe.
You parry as they are about to swing, it will select that direction they are swinging.
I don't have auto parry, it never worked for me. I used it for ages and it never ever got it right lol. I didn't count fully charged attacks and obviously bigger weapons before you ask, but as a hk against a skirm...

Cmon

If you are HK vs Skirm and having difficulties, try to trade hits with him as he cannot handle that unless he was obviously full hp and you were a hit away from falling

nah they just spam m1 and f :P 3 hits = special and i can't parry em so its just rape all round
... If they spam M1 they were doomed to begin with. It takes more than 3 hits to get a special. Spam M1 are the easiest Skirms to take down with little to no damage taken by me as I can just evade their telegraphed swings.
That's the problem, the bhopping, constant hitting moving my camera, and not being able to parry makes it impossible. Also, I tried it myself. I was able to get a special every 3 hits. Wasn't consistent though, but it was possible.
If you are spamming M1 you cannot get a special in 3 swings and since swings are multiple hits you need to be accurate to gain a special quickly.

It is not impossible for a HK to beat a Skirmisher as again, if they are spamming the M1 you can do multiple things:

1) Parry, most likely if they are doing the same swing or if you time it right and they aren't high pingers, yes, this can be done, as I have done it thousands of times

2) Trade hits, the Skirmisher will fall very quickly and cannot trade his scratch vs the colossal fully charged swings of yours

3) Strafe + jump + charge swing, telegraphing M1 users don't aim their swings generally so it isn't that difficult to avoid

4) Shield, this is an easy solution if the enemy is high ping + you are lower hp than he is. Because he is telegraphing his swings and not charging them he will not harm you as he hits the shield and you shield bash + swing between his swings

This sounds more like a personal issue I suggest you continue to play until you are able to get more experience to be able to handle these people better. The same with how people complained about Pyros in TF2 that just W+M1, they are easily countered by people who've got their feet wet in the game and know the counters better.
The problems I'm having aren't as you've pictured them. Also, people attacking from the same direction aren't parried by either, I'm confused af.
