For reference, I have at least 50 or so hours in this game on mobile and the other PC client.

The game's more tolerable than other mobile games of its kind of market. It's grindy, and there are occasional resets, but everything you research (primarily ships and upgrades) are kept as well as some other things. Investing money will obviously net you an edge especially when buying the boxes for ships, research catalysts or whatever they are, and tech points, but isn't necessarily required and for a while the game can be enjoyable solo with PvE, just minding your own mining business or just sharing with neighbours, such as one case for me in one of the new servers.

There are many flaws to it, but its fun when you turn your brain off for the most part and simply mind your business. Eventually you'll be on par (sooner or later) to do PvP if that's your taste or take up contracts after completing your initial Dawn Accord contract for new players.

Avoid playing if you hate P2W.

Does not let you use existing accounts.

Ship blueprints locked behind loot box.

Highly P2W as loot box also hands out 1 tech point for random ship type each time. While max ship level you can achieve without tech points is 50, you can go way beyond that with tech points gained from loot box. Considering tech points tied to specific ships are used to upgrade that specific ship, the performance difference of ships between casuals and whales are huge.

Heavy in the P2W section & I would not recommend the game... I have tested it for almost 14h.
And I have gotten almost no where... as all the things to build takes 1-6h, also to make the better ships, all from 10min - 6h to make the ships & some are behind paywalls. So if you pay, it can be done in seconds...

Here's the current state of IL:

Megas determine servers before they join them, intentionally dodging other megas to do this. They don't care about playing the game, only about the dawn points at the end of a server. They'll intentionally tank the health of the game and the new/early player experience so they can get two free ships (if their union in the mega is allowed the rewards that phase) at the end of their 2-3 months of playing. They may bluster and banter about being hardcore and elite PvPers, but they're just kittens in the grand scheme of things. Non megas have three choices:
Wait for a server to open up that doesn't have a mega attached to it (rare)
Get smashed all server long and graveyard farmed by a mega, not being allowed to actually play (common)
Quit the game (More common)

There are a few people who have had enough of this and fight back, but they ultimately fall into option 2. And not just option 2, they're actively harassed, name called, bullied while being non-stop farmed. I've personally been graveyard farmed for five days straight, every time my peace shield would drop I'd get hit again to the point where making ships was a waste of time, and instead I poured my resources into just doing nothing.

The kicker? This developer promotes this behavior. They intentionally keep the new server list few and far between so that megas are constantly filling new servers while throwing their wallets at the developers, and new players find better games to play. It's a vicious cycle of the same mega alliances doing the same things, trading the same rewards every server.

The biggest offenders? PA, NIVANS, MHA. But these are three out of 6? 7? mega alliances in the game.

Oh, but they might get bored! So, to combat that boredom, while they decimate any resistance to their mega, they host "civil wars" so they can pretend like they're playing the game and boast about how good they are at PvP.

It's a giant joke. Stay far away from this nonsense game.
For reference, I'm on phase with my main account, so I'm not a new player. Nor will I be a returning player after this phase ends until NetEase either releases more servers, or opens PvE only mode.

For reference, a mega alliance is roughly 1500-2000 players. An alliance of 10+ unions, many of which are in phase 10+ and who have spent huge money to avoid actually playing the game.

Many mixed opinions on it.But I will get straight to the point!
Lets start by saying that the PC Version is the cheapest lowest effort mobile port Ive seen. I have 6h here but I have been online for at least 5 hours per day for the past 2.5 months in the non steam version. Approximately 350 to 400 hours. I had time at this point of my life and used it as I'd like. Dont care.

Nothing else matters and your base can be rebuild after each server shutdown.

And now the TRUE & REAL problems!

1) You need the Battlepass. - No battlepass no research.
2) You need to buy Premium Currency - No premium coins no loot boxes no research.
3) Paying doesnt help your base, it helps your ships become stronger. Someone who pays will always win.
4) People in this game pay thousands of real money to have immortal fleets. They cannot be killed.
5) P2W Clans are the winners of every server. Everyone else runs out of resources and cant build anything.
6) The players of this game are extraordinarily out of touch with real life. If you say hello in a way they didnt like, they will most certainly try to make you quit the game by destroying everything your ENTIRE CLAN has so they kick you out.
7) I am playing league of legends since 2014 and I have played in the OG COD lobbies of modern warfare 1, 2, 3, BO1, BO2 etc. This community however, is the worst. Your first starter server will be nice and sweet full of people who want to restart all progress and make friends. Your second server where everyone quits the game.
8) There are 0 strategies here. You send some ships and you cant control them until they reach their destination in 1-2 or even 3 hours. Thats the gameplay experience. You click and it travels for 3 hours unless you retreat the ships to your base. BUT EVEN IF you think that this is the point. No. Swarming is the point. Have 20 ships that heal themselves carry the most unholy fighters and corvettes researched from months of PAYING real money, thats how to properly play.


ALL IN ALL

I dont care about the long waiting times. I dont care about the server shutdown that resets all your progress except research and blueprints.

BUT I cannot stress enough, the power-trips some people in here experience are extreme. Many P2W players feel that you owe to them a thank you for being in the same server as you. Since many people pay thousands upon untold thousands of dollars. If you just buy the Battlepass and dont spend at least 1000 - 2000 dollars you WILL lose any and all confrontations. I have spent 200$ and trust me, there hasnt been a single fight I have ever won against another player after the 1st starter server. You may think its because of my strats. No, there are 0 strats here. You send some ships and you cant control them until they reach their destination. Thats the gameplay experience. You click and it goes. "What if your ships where bad?" Ive spent 200$, imagine how much you'd need for them to be good. But a practical example - Me and 4 other members of my Clan attacked this one enemy P2W player fleet. We lost all our ships 70-80 total. He lost 7 ships out of 30+. And thats one P2W player out of the 50 his clan had. Not even a leader. Just a random dude.

Spend your time and money on actually good games. Or save up for a next gen console or PC. NOT EVEN KIDDING, Its cheaper to get a 3060 ti pc and just buy any real game you fancy.

If you're already playing in mobile and want to play in PC I suggest just downloading the PC client in their official webpage. The steam version doesn't support google log-in so you're gonna start all over again.

This port of the mobile game is extremely poorly done, can't full screen and it's still just an emulator instead of a pc made, even Bluestack does it better

i thought this may be a low end EVE clone so i went in tenuous. it is not, thankfully.

however, being more likened to a clash of clans or march of empires in space, it has some issues that turn it easily to a thumbs down for me.

it starts boringly slow. most base builders under time-management mechanics, start quick and incrementally grow slower. this one starts slower than any i have played before and indeed does get slower. you can speed things up freely by growing your base and upgrading ships, but then the action points come into play and this mechanism just ruins the whole thing.

first you wait a long period of time to build the fleet and then you have restrictive use of them. i don't know who came up with the idea but it was NOT thought out and strangles players who want to spend time here playing and indeed, completing quests, as you very quickly run out of action points that take an age to refill and push you to go play something else. senseless mechanic.

you also can find yourself surrounded by other bases with little to no resources around you to mine., and new bases can spring up leaving very little to collect for way too many players. you CAN move your base but that takes a lot of mining next to nothing over a very long period of time. another aspect REALLY not thought out.

the final no-no is that this is a mobile game ported to steam, but with NO fullscreen. it is also NOT optimised for pc gaming. it looks pretty but lags something awful.

too slow to be enjoyable, which explains why so many new players leave after just a day or two. me now being another one

Scummy devs, total cashgrab, P2W.

You can spend hundreds of hours playing, eventually even money, go for trade agreements in the hopes to finally get a good ship, get that ship after literally weeks of waiting, and then you can't use what you've unlocked, cause apparently you need another variant first (that you may not get even if you play for years).

DO NOT PLAY! P2W with extremely scummy devs.

It is a 2d space game with heavy pay to win aspects. Nothing works the way space is supposed to work and when a method is found that makes the game somewhat more enjoyable you can be sure the Devs will patch it out. Go play Eve if you want an actually good space simulation game.
