Hacks and cheaters.
I notice in most the game you have a realistic score with many scores. Then you get some scores that are just unrealistic and impossible BS. I would like the mods of the game to remove those. Otherwise, prove that the they can. We know they can't they are not even active steam accounts. Aside from that, please keep up the great work.

If people want to cheat, they will cheat.

*shrug*

They do for what gain? We all know they do. So we disregard their scores. The Admin team should as well. If you look at their Steam accounts they are clearly hackers. So my question is, if you are going to put any effort into promoting scores and challenges and not verify cheating then the system is unrealistic.

Just do what I do, and ignore the leaderboards entirely. Playing games isn't a competition, to me at least. Play for fun, forget about the rest.

Good point

I notice in Street Fighter Alpha 2 and 3 there are 999.999.999 scores. How is that possible? I'd like to know

Well apparently Capcom doesn't care about cheaters but care only about customers trying to extract the roms for use on their phones and tablets.

After all, wasn't the opinion that they were locked so they couldn't be modded or some other nonsense?

Looks like that wasn't the case.

It's best to just to focus on your own personal high scores and try to beat those.
Gamyr Jan 19, 2023 @ 3:16pm
One good way to look at it, For me, I use the built in cheats, so leaderboards are a moot point in my case.
Biggles Jan 23, 2023 @ 1:25am
Agreed. However if you are going to offer score challenges, leader boards etc build into a game, then that is a product you are selling, so like any product you sell, you have to support it. Otherwise if its not moderated, then its a reflection of how serious you company is taking these game features. Either support this feature or remove it. Simple as that.

Yes I agree, but I think apart of the challenge is about setting how good you are against the best in the world. That is the very reason for the score system and challenges, and also gives plays more motivation to beat or hold your own records. Arcade games have been build around high scores in the past. It is the very foundation of what has created the level of competition to where modern games and e-sports are today.

Totally understand your position.

In life there are two types of game players.
Those that strive just one more go to enjoy/play hey and maybe be the best at it!

Then there are those who for a plethora of reasons fail in life at most things.
They cheat because they believe irrespective of cheating this shows everyone 'look how good I am' and they feel good about themselves.
Sadly it is not going to change.

I do however have a message for those that do cheat for afore said.

Take a look at your life. What is it that makes you do that? It is all score with initials that are empty. There is no genuine claim and it offers only fallacy.

Rather than attacking you ( I shall not) I posit with my age of near on 6 decades that you need to change your life.
Find something you are genuinely good at and be proud for that achievement.

Believe me, the time shall come to pass when you are older. You will be a different person with hopefully decent ideals.

Why not skip waiting until your near on 60 and do something right and just stop this self delusion.
You are ALL worth far more than a bloomin cheat!

Show it, if not least for yourself in life.

I'm not advocating cheating to get a higher score than others. That said, I mainly use cheats (like the built in invincibility) to have fun playing a game, and not get bogged down with things like lives, and dying. I would never intentionally cheat to feel superior, I cheat to feel less frustrated, or, I just want to mess around. I even try to use cheats that don't have permanent effects on my score/achievements. I'm also cool with games that are like, "You want to use cheats? Go ahead, but you'll be blocked from awards". People who alter scores are people I want to stay well away from.

I haven't played score challenge and if I did I wouldn't use turbo fire.

I just play arcade, usually 1 credit then on to another game. I'll eventually use continues in arcade as most of these games can't be finished on one credit, at least by 99% of the gamers playing them.

I don't think autofire is cheating. Back in the day lots of arcade cabinets had built in autofire.
Anyway, I did 1cc Final Fight on the Score Attack mode using autofire. Better for my arcade stick durability and my wrist joint health.
