I have attempted to brew American Black Ale 3 times now. Each batch comes out QNE STAR. I am using the small pot because it holds up to 10 L & I only need 9 L. Should I try making a large batch or is this a glitch i am up against? Thanks.

Hi, are you sure you are making everything. EVERYTHING (:D) according to the recipe? If so, please send us a video of the problem and your AppData folder (C:\Users\Username\AppData\LocalLow\Star Drifters\Brewpub Simulator - just zip the whole Brewpub Simulator folder and attach the zipped file to your message).

I am sure I have followed recipe. But my question went unanswered. Can this beer be made in the Small pot like I have been attempting? Or does this quest require the Large pot be used? Thanks.

Use the larger pot. Give them more than they ask. Make sure that you adjust batch size in the recipe and follow it.

One star.....Then you have made a mistake somewhere.

Like Old_Lady said, use the large 20L pot.
Change the batch size in the recipe to 10-20L, then pin it & follow it.

Yes, it can be made in the small pot but regardless of how much they ask, always use the large one. In fact... if you haven't already done so, buy the larger fermentation pot... it fits on the stove and can be used as a cooking device.
And sorry, if you followed the recipe to the letter, you should get the correct 5 star brew. You must have made a mistake somewhere. Don't know the recipe on top of my head but remember there are recipes that ask for hops after cooking.

I am positive I have followed the recipe to a tee. SEVEN times now. Three in the small pot, four in the large pot. I was sure the first failure I did it correctly but gave the game the benefit of the doubt and tried again and again and again. Even if I am doing it wrong, you would think one of the seven would just by chance be better than a one star. Every other batch of ale I brew are 5 stars. I have had to restart this game from scratch 6 times. Three times after multiple tries to get to expand Pub. Finally got past that glitch and now this. I love this game but I think I am going to take a break and let some of these bugs get worked out. The good thing about this game is the Devs are very involved so hopefully in the future the game will be as great as I think it will be. Just very frustrated right now, I'm gonna take a break from this.

hhmm I had a quick look at the recipe and there is not really anything that you can do wrong. Just to make 100% sure... you are using Magnum Hops instead of Cascade hops right? and you use the big bag of chocolate malt, not accidentally have been reading chocolate and bought a few packs of cocoa? It is the only thing I can think of that someone would overlook. Following the recipes have so far never given me the wrong outcome hence my assumption something had to be done wrong. But it doesn't have any steps after cooking except adding the yeast so there the problem is not present.

Perhaps try getting it on video. Everyone running Windows 10 (and I think 11) has recording options as long as they have the xbox apps.(which most have by default). To start recording hit the windows key+ALT+R and a small bar will appear showing you are recording, if I am correct it should be stored in your video folder in a folder called captures. That might not just help the developers but also members of this forum that might want to try and help,

As far as " getting it on video, I work in the Medical field and work very long hours. Gaming is a chill place for me where other peoples pain and suffering can be drained from my mind and soul. I am a clinician. Not at computer tech. In my office I call the IT Department
:) Honestly, sorry to say, I have no desire to learn how to send data to a Company selling a product that has many similar glitches. As I mentioned I have had to restart multiple times to circumvent an issue so I could advance to the next level or challenge. If I have this happening, I am sure many others have as well. Thank you so very much for you time and your thoughtful help. But I will pass on sending videos and hope this excellent team will eventually work out these game ending bugs. It's a great game. But for now I do not want to again start over in hopes of getting my this hurdle. Thanks again.

It's frustrating having to restart when you just wanna sit down & relax, been there myself, even stopped playing between patches 1 & 2 and did a full uninstall/reinstall after #3 and my game's been solid since, still a couple of small issues but nothing game breaking though.

Can I ask, the Black Ale you're trying to make is for the dishwasher mission? 9 litres at 3 star minimum?
If so, then you only need a basic black ale recipe iirc, so no need to add flavourings before fermenting.
Which batch size of the recipe have you been using?
For 9 litres you really need to be following the 10-20L batch size, which will net you around 13.9L, more than enough to meet the parameters.

The only other thing I can suggest would be to uninstall, maybe wait for the next patch & then reinstall, which unfortunately means starting again... It did help me.

No problem, I am sorry I couldn't be of more help. If I happen to come across something that can explain how this happened I will let you know. I hope the dev representatives can give you a better answer. I understand long hours, I used to run evening/night shifts for a shelter for homeless, I had many interactions with your "co-workers" over the years and know a little bit what you people have to deal with. Also my late wife needed 24/7 care so in that capacity I also dealt with many medical people. I have a huge amount of respect and gratitude to people like yourself. Keep doing good work and don't let the haters (you know what I mean) get you down :)

Persecuter, yes this is the "quest" to obtain the used dishwasher. AS far as batch size, my first 3 attempts were in the small pot filled to 9 Liters as requested. All 3 batches came out ONE STAR. Never had a one star before that. Then I decided to try large pot, This required I use 11 Liters of water. I followed the directions exactly, added the increased doses of ingredients as directed. Aged for 2 days. And after the 2 days all 4 large pot attempts again yielded ONE STAR results. I just gave up. I have considered making 2 kegs of 5.30 Liters and see if I get my usual 5 star ratings. If so, then combine both batches. But today, tomorrow. I'm just taking a break. Thanks to everyone for your time and thoughts. As far as Uninstall I did that after the last update, hence one of my many restarts. I have also "verified" files multiple times. Thanks again to all

I found a work around that worked for me. I was able to make 2 FIVE STAR 5.30 L batches of the Dark Ale, combined them in the fermentation bucket and then loaded the Keg into the shipment lock. I got my dishwasher. Thanks to everyone who rendered thoughts and help.
