HELP: Comet VPN Connections... I can't connect?

I've gotten to the Comet portion of the game. Following the help guide, I went to the company LinkedOut, got an employee name, hacked their computer and retrieved the VPN and access files. Now the guide just says: Use the VPN file to connect to the companie's network, but it does not indicate how. Am I missing something obvious? I've tried using lanscanner (to which it responds: unknown command), switch <IP address> (you are not connected to any network), just typing the VPN file, and typing the VPN file followed by the access file. I can't seem to get connected to the company Network at all.

UPDATE: I've used the HELP commands to figure out that the command I needed to use before the VPN file was VPN, so now it says I am logged into the network... however... I still cannot use the lanscanner tool (unknown command).

the lanscanner is actually an app on the left-hand bar (looks like an eye). When you connect to the vpn / access, you can click the lanscanner app on the left to see all the available machines you can 'switch' to.

you have to type "vpn "in a terminal then the VPN address. and you have to have to have the access code too
