Just two points to revive the game
1. Bots. So that they can be launched on a dedicated server and just through the console on a server running from the game.
2. Update game netcode for "Use Steam Network". As in the recent anniversary update for half-life, when creating a server through the game menu, a check mark appeared - "Use Steam Network". When it is turned on, even if the player does not have a static IP address (necessary to run a dedicated server), other players will still see his server, which will be called by his nickname, because steam will create a "virtual network" like hammachi so that such a server can be joined.

Thus, it will be possible to create a dedicated server on which 2-4 bots will spin, so that even one player who logged on to the server would not be bored waiting for other players. And also so that any player can create his own server to play with bots and at the same time so that everyone can easily join him if he creates an open server.

This game remains with the purest gameplay to this day, while Crossout is dying, in this game you could always just go in and have fun without wasting time on any pumping and grinding.

And you only need to fulfill two goals so that you can always find someone to play with.
As I understand it, the first goal can be achieved by ourselves, only to find a programmer who can create bots, I am ready to invest some money in this.
But the second goal cannot be achieved without the game developers. We need their assistance, at least to give access to the source code so that an enthusiastic programmer can make the necessary improvements, or give the source code to Valve and also Valve themselves must be persuaded to help with this, and then pour a new build of the game into steam.
But all this is possible if you know who to write to or gather a lot of people who will rock this topic.

I have been thinking for the last few years how to interest enough people to hold an online tournament for the game with meager prizes (which I am ready to finance myself) if there were someone to play with as before, so that there would be at least 8 people in the match ;)
