They also announced they're in the early stages of a Falcon series sequel, currently being referred to as Falcon 5.0. `Not sure how much of their in-house capacity is involved with that project at this point, but they did announce that it was in close cooperation with the BMS team. :)
The people saying this may have been onto something as the redux of the second game only finally stopped being radio silent recently and they included pitches for that show. Seems silly to have gone completely dark until then but even AAA companies sometimes make the mistake of announcing a project WAY to early and then quietly hoping we'll forget about it until they either have something tangible or can quietly cancel it. Not saying they plan to axe this, but if this was their strategy major announcements and store page listings were premature to say the least. Still, these games will fill an underserved niche so if nothing else I hope they turn out good. Gonna be keeping an eye on them.
Tip to the devs: Even a one sentence update would work wonders. Saying absolutely nothing is terrible business practice and I will be avoiding all titles with this disappointing developer name on them like the plague in the future. This has been on my wishlist for a year now and I have not seen ONE update.
Good luck, good riddance.
Your loss man. Microprose has a great reputation. Back in the day we didn't have forums where they were able to release info to us. It would just give a date that would push back, but you had to go into Electronics Boutique (later called EB Games, later called Gamestop) and they would look up the release date for you. This game is their crowning achievement and they are working on it. They just don't come in here to update, but it is very much alive. Shame you are going to miss a sweet game.
-Sincerely a huge fan that is fed up with their lack of communication
How so? They're using two completely different engines.

I hate to break it to you, but this isn't the same Microprose as the classic studio. This is just somebody else using the name. And so far the new Microprose's reputation is not off to a great start. The Mighty 8th Redux just got delayed as the countdown to release timer on Steam ran out. And there's very little dev posts for upcoming games on Steam.
All that said, if you think their bad PR means you can't trust them, that's valid. Unsub from discussions and click ignore on the store page and move on then. It's not like they're scamming anyone out of money so there's nothing to "warn" people about, and these threads will still be here to let people know to be cautious. I can't understand spending time and effort on a game you're sure will never come out though. Move on, play other cool stuff.
