We just gotta wait, the Studio has many games in production atm.
The mighty Eight remaster had an announcement 25 of August stating its release date (Early access) would come Q4 2023.

They might be focusing on that one first.
At least the studio itself seems to be working, so either wait or wipe the game from your memory.
Oh im going to wait just really wish they would do update post on here rather then on just twitter [X]. I seen some of the B-24 progress and it looks fantastic so far.

They have three games in production. One is a remaster, one is a VR spin off of an existing project, and the other is the only one (Bloody 100th) that's entirely new. Everything else is a third-party project where they're acting as the publisher only.

So many games in production...

They also announced they're in the early stages of a Falcon series sequel, currently being referred to as Falcon 5.0. `Not sure how much of their in-house capacity is involved with that project at this point, but they did announce that it was in close cooperation with the BMS team. :)

Their Discord has little info. The gates are still "TBD" for the B17 series of games.

LOL. Give it a break, they will post when they feel the need or desire to do so. They are marketing a product and how they do that may not be in accordance with how you, we or others may want it, but it's theirs to market. I for one will purchase this product as soon as i'm able to and even if it is not improved over the original, it will still be fantastic. I fondly remember my many days playing the original product and the joy it brought me in my gaming time. :)

That's not true. They were the top maker back in the mid 90s. Falcon 4.0 was state of the art when it came out. I played 1942 like crazy back on my Packard Bell 486 processor I had. There were many more they put out back then.

They're not even remotely the same company from back in the day and are Microprose in name only. You should take some time to look into David Lagettie (current CEO), his past involvement in other ventures, and where he intends to take the company with regards to future products, specifically sim related stuff.

Also, if you think this is going to be a sim you're wrong. Lagettie pretty much said it isn't a flight sim, so I wouldn't hold my breath for it to be one. It's been stated numerous times via interviews and their official Twitter that it's action oriented with a 'streamlined' system.

That's not really surprising news though if you played the OG B-17 games. I wouldn't call them really arcady but there were more hardcore sims even back then. Was a lot more about having a lot of jobs to do, or even playing the game as a squadron commander and the focus being on managing your crews, keeping your assets airworthy, and planning missions and alternates.

The people saying this may have been onto something as the redux of the second game only finally stopped being radio silent recently and they included pitches for that show. Seems silly to have gone completely dark until then but even AAA companies sometimes make the mistake of announcing a project WAY to early and then quietly hoping we'll forget about it until they either have something tangible or can quietly cancel it. Not saying they plan to axe this, but if this was their strategy major announcements and store page listings were premature to say the least. Still, these games will fill an underserved niche so if nothing else I hope they turn out good. Gonna be keeping an eye on them.

On the bright side, the Redux is getting plenty of updates via dev diaries.

well imma remove this from my wishlist.
Tip to the devs: Even a one sentence update would work wonders. Saying absolutely nothing is terrible business practice and I will be avoiding all titles with this disappointing developer name on them like the plague in the future. This has been on my wishlist for a year now and I have not seen ONE update.

Good luck, good riddance.

Your loss man. Microprose has a great reputation. Back in the day we didn't have forums where they were able to release info to us. It would just give a date that would push back, but you had to go into Electronics Boutique (later called EB Games, later called Gamestop) and they would look up the release date for you. This game is their crowning achievement and they are working on it. They just don't come in here to update, but it is very much alive. Shame you are going to miss a sweet game.

Shame on them for having piss poor PR in 2024. This isn’t 1999. Either get with the times or expect to fail!
-Sincerely a huge fan that is fed up with their lack of communication

The Redux version of The Mighty Eighth is now showing on Steam as going into Early Access January 24. I wonder if they will build upon that game for the Bloody 100th?

How so? They're using two completely different engines.

Did the game's store page get new art, or am I only imagining it because the other game's release got an update? That could indicate they're finally gonna say SOMETHING (LITERALLY ANYTHING PLEASE)

Unless i'm missing something, it's the same. You can check the web archive and see the same images.

I hate to break it to you, but this isn't the same Microprose as the classic studio. This is just somebody else using the name. And so far the new Microprose's reputation is not off to a great start. The Mighty 8th Redux just got delayed as the countdown to release timer on Steam ran out. And there's very little dev posts for upcoming games on Steam.
FirestormMk3 Jan 23, 2024 @ 5:05am
Yet Might 8th Redux codes have already gone to some content creators. It's not because it's vaporware, you can now find videos of it being played. There were a couple bugs (including ones from the original game) they're hammering out, like the glitch in the new tail gunner gunsight. Some of their other games have already released with good reviews. I get being impatient about the game you most want to play not being out yet, and it is frustrating that there's more information on the Discord than here (in fact, another of the games they're publishing Sea Power has had a couple intrepid fans start copying stuff Triassic, the Devs, show in the Discord for that game to the Steam forum), but that doesn't mean the game isn't coming.

All that said, if you think their bad PR means you can't trust them, that's valid. Unsub from discussions and click ignore on the store page and move on then. It's not like they're scamming anyone out of money so there's nothing to "warn" people about, and these threads will still be here to let people know to be cautious. I can't understand spending time and effort on a game you're sure will never come out though. Move on, play other cool stuff.
