Transport pipe to Conveyor belt

Maybe I am missing something but I have attempted this many ways. I would like to use the vertical transport pipes to transport from 2nd floor. I have conveyor belt going into a conveyor/pipe joint-transport pipes to 1st floor. but I can seem to get them them to spit back out on a conveyor system. the joint only allows to convert into pipe.

place a joint, open it with E, in the window in the left bottom corner click on the button to swap in and out

Sure, AUT-Cypher's tip is working. I use it several times.

have this problem too. I build the pipe line and nothing happened. the material is stuck infront of the entry. changed the direction and nothing happend. deleted all and build it new but the same problem is still existing
