System to the East along the bottom line of connected systems has a space station. Buy it there.

Did you buy it then sell it to the traders guild after researching it? As that's what I did then realised I needed it for the quest and had to buy it back.

I literally just did this, and it was there. The only thing I can think of is to make sure you've done all the dialogue options. Also, unsure if it matters but I avoided fighting the hive (at least so far) which relates to the station's situation.

If it helps to clear up misunderstandings: the Heat Exchanger doesn't go by that name in the item list. It is called Thermal Device or something like that.

It is at most south-eastern system of Pure Hive space, yellow star with oceanic planet.

Thank you. all the reference to a race I had never encountered and a system beyond where I had explored did nothing to solve this. A simple mouse location and problem solved. Had to upgrade my ship a lot to pass the Flying Hive.
